Ummm ...

I think I have to :psyduck: that ...

They can do better than horribly cribbing Kubrick.

That said, I suppose it did its job. Now I will have to seriously consider buying a Constellation.

I were a man prone to spending hundreds of dollars on internet starships, I'd have to have Phoenix because... Hot tub. Ultimate party ship.

The Aquila ...

Of course, I suspect one of those has been purchased already.

I like, but at the same time, I am a bit disappointed in the Constellation commercial. Seemed more like a Super Bowl Chrysler (RSI) general piece than trying to sell me a spaceship.

It is. It wasmas much about "Hey look at our face and motion capture progress." as it was. "Buy this ship"

This feeds well intomthe main idea of gamescon: Yes we are hard at work on refining the flight module, but we haven't forgotten everything else.

Actually (and in response to an IM from Ranelagh), I went ahead and picked up a Phoenix upgrade that will sit around unapplied until I see how the whole thing settles out. I have no interest in the hot tub, but that size 7 powerplant is quite tempting. It will also depend on whether the Caterpillar comes with (or can be upgraded to) any sensor-shielded compartments. I prefer the Aquila's cockpit and sensor package to the rest of the features on the Phoenix, and the Aquila keeps the missile hardpoints that I actually like (the deployable racks on big sticks were always ugly and ridiculous to me, but make more sense as sensor mounts), so it's quite likely that between now and then I'll melt the un-applied upgrade and pick up the Aquila one with credit.

I have never been a big fan the the Star Citizen "Millennium Falcon", I just don't appreciate the body style and cockpit. I have to say though, it is starting to grow on me after the commercial. I am not really sure why - perhaps seeing the crew stations manned, perhaps it was the Pheonix's hot tub!

My worry about owning a multi-player ship with more than 2 crew, is having enough online time alongside friends who'd crew it. Based on past MMO experience my playtimes traditionally haven't matched up well. All that could have changed now, but it's still a point of hesitation.
