Playing around with it a bit today after I got home from Star Wars Destiny night at the FLGS.

So far, I've mostly been tinkering with the controls to figure out the right things I need to do to bind my pedals and throttle to the new system. The absolute throttle with the zero in the center still feels foreign, but seems to be mostly workable, and I've got everything else set up to feel natural. Combat speed (that is, not going "into the red") *feels* slow, which I'm not mad about. Going above them gets drifty as ****, which I'm also not mad about. I think the most awkward part for me is that the combat speeds are so low relative to the rest of the range that it feels like my precision is being sucked up by a bunch of range where I don't need it. Hmm. I wonder if I can edit the sensitivity curve on the slider I've got bound to it.

In any event, I'm becoming more and more enamored of my throttle. When they added the speed limiter setting and I realized I'm going to want to be adjusting it on the fly, I panicked slightly. Then I remembered that I've got an extra analog input I wasn't previously using. Perfect.

I have to get my Laptop fixed back up to play again. It might be time for an upgraded one, but I am trying to wait until whatever I get will run the released game well.

The new Telemetry page on their website is pretty cool when it comes to seeing what performance is like for various folks. Never seen anybody do their minimum/recommended specs in such an information-rich way.

Haven't given it a go yet. Next bunch of rainy times most likely.

I get combat in space will feel slow because of the massive distances but for a game they want it to feel like 3d dogfighting. Which I think is the correct feel. If it was realistic it would be a battle of AI calculation speed and algorithms .

I've heard that it sucks if you fail to request landings so I gotta pretty much get a good large print out of the new keybindings.

Do we want to try to make a day a month where we all log in for a few hours (given our timezones) and see who overlaps with whom?

Weekdays my availability is generally after 7:30PM Eastern. Occasionally earlier.
Weekends are highly variable but it's safe to say if it is a lawnwork day I tucker myself out by 6.
