My old computer woes aside, I have a i7 Skylake 6700k, 16gb ddr4 @2100, Geforce 660ti, and its not running like a slideshow any longer.

So, what have I missed? :) My hangar seems to be empty of everything but my one ship, and two cannons. Where'd all my goodies go? :(

You have to go into your account on the website and add ships back into your hangar. Your weapons just show up in the holo table. The important update is you can leave your hangar on foot and walk about the planet of Stanton. There's not much to do other than drive golf carts and sight see though. Also there is a single player tutorial under the arena commander menu (hit escape)

Rori covered it. The next big release is going to be a doozy, though.

We need to schedule another play session, though this weekend is kind of shot for me.

I'm hoping that 2.0 drops before Christmas, because I have the entire week after Christmas off, and hope to dedicate a large swath of it to 2.0

Weird, all I have on the holo table are the two -117 cannons that are mounted to the Hornet. I don't have any missiles, or the 2 nose cannons it used to have. I have the hardpoints, but the weapons aren't there anymore.

That said, it is MUCH easier to kill things now that I'm not shooting at where things
were 3 seconds ago. ;) Still suck pretty hard though.

And apparently I can't mount guns where the missiles went. Gimbals still annoy me.

If I read this correctly, I have room to upgrade the Engines from 3 to 4, the power plant from 2 to 3, the wing mounts from 2 to 4 (or if I can get the conversion mount to put an S5 cannon there?) It doesn't ship with rockets/missiles, and I can place a single, S1 weapon in the "canard"? Also the shield can be upgraded to 4 from 2?

What happened to the two fixed mounts? I remember there were mantis cannons at one point... Have they been removed because people whined?

The hornet standard load out was changed while back to bring it in line with the civilian specs as opposed to the military ones. I can't speak to exactly what's been removed entirely and what is an option you have to purchase/ rent. I THINK the nose was lost and you have to purchase a ball turret but I'm not certain.

And do you have a standard hornet or a variant

Author:  Rorinthas [ Tue Nov 03, 2015 3:57 pm ]
Post subject:

Yeah you have a tracker so you get the tracker default load out. You may have been using a regular hornet before

Ahh, ok.

When I got the Tracker, do I not also get a base model hornet? I thought that was part of the deal.

And should I wait till 2.0 launches so I don't have to relearn how it handles?

Also, how do I earn UEC in game? Or is that just straight pay for credits?

They should drop 2.0 the day Fallout 4 launches. Just to see the internet burn.

Seriously though, I can't wait to see Star Marine, with as intense as they've been developing it.

Back before they were putting variants' loadouts and models into the Arena Commander bit, they used to give you a loaner base model alongside your actual ship in the hangar so you'd have something to fiddle with the equipment on that would then transfer into the game. It wasn't ever meant to be a 2-for-1 deal.

Up to you? I honestly don't know how significant the flight model changes will be, and actually, the answer is probably "it will vary significantly from one ship to the next." Given that likelihood, it's probably not outrageous to suggest that the Hornet will probably be the least changed, feel-wise, as it seems to be kind of the baseline from which everything else gets tweaked.

UEC is currently only "straight pay for credits", because that's what will transfer into the full persistant universe at a later date. If you're looking to experiment with different equipment and whatnot, you can instead earn REC (I think it stands for rental equipment credits?) that can be spent on gear for use in Arena Commander only, often renting it for a limited time of a couple days to a couple weeks, IIRC.

That all makes sense. :)

Need to do something about the lack of punch my Tracker has. those two Badgers are kinda sad.

I'm thinking neutron guns, or the big omniskiy. Hmm

Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, you earn REC in-game by playing multiplayer.

I kinda dig the multiplayer co-op swarm mode.

But my god my Hornet is way underpowered :)

Or those Vanduul ships are made of armor.

I've only flown once against the NPCs months back, and it seemed that way to me too. I don't know if it might have just been lack of experience though.

Swapping out the badgers for Panthers, the nose canard, and a pair of bulldogs in the nose have really helped.

I'm thinking I want to go with 4 panthers though. With the fixed 'Turret' mount, and swapping the dual bulldogs and canard for a fourth panther.

Then we'll see how "made of armor" the vanduul are. ;)

I haven't worked out how to replace a gimballed mount with a bigger size fixed gun.

Not sure, you should be able to lock them forward if you wish

I'm not sure that the appropriate mount is available, yet.

In my Hornet, I have a "S3 gimbal" that I have to remove before I can mount my panthers. Its kind of a pain to select though.

Annnnd... that Flashfire mount isn't compatible with the Tracker. Nice. Also, its apparently *only* compatible with the Combine cannon.

You should still be able to pull the gimbals off and mount the panthers I think

Yes. that is definitely a good thing to do. I think a third Panther in the nose will be golden.

That canard turret is made of glass. But not like the glass they make sturdy things out of, the glass that like stuntmen crash through that shatters at just a flick.

How do you not burst into flames with those repeaters?

The Bulldog/Badger/Panthers are actually pretty not overheaty for me. Constant stream of pew.

The NN cannons are like 4 shots and "Warning, you're about to burst into flames!" Yeah, they hit like trucks, but very overheaty.
