Yeah, I never see that cinematic anymore. Having played the game through four times, I'm convinced Nova was playing you and siding with Tosh produces by far the best result.

Bah. Tosh was dangerous, and had no loyalty to Jim. Nova's alright, and her willingness to work with you demonstrates that she's not an unquestioning Dominion lapdog. Cooperation with her yields the resources to train operatives from your own forces, and I value that.

Tosh is loyal enough once you side with him, and keeps working with you, providing some valuable insights if you talk to him between every mission. Nova is lying through her teeth about Spectre training turning them into psychopaths (as confirmed by Dr. Ariel Hanson.)
Most importantly, your assault on New Folsom frees every scientist, philosopher, and free thinker who ever challenged the rule of Arcturus Mengst, thus generating the best cutscene in the game involving Jim and Matt. (Matt Horner very much approves freeing the prisoners.)
That cutscene made me convinced that Matt Horner was awesome.
As a side point, i generally don't like relying on stealth (or any other micromanagement-intensive ability), so neither Spectres nor Ghosts appeal to me for general use.

As I've said before, if you side with Tosh, they aren't so bad. If you side with Nova, it turns out everything Nova said was true. The entire story changes based on the choices you make.

That's actually not true. Nova doesn't give you ANYTHING to prove her position. If you side with Nova, you never really know whether or not she was playing you. The two endings don't even contradict each other. Siding with Nova leaves you wondering if you did the right thing, while siding with Tosh proves you did the right thing. If you side with Nova, the results don't really help your cause much. If you side with Tosh, it's a phenomenal success in every possible respect. One is far more satisfying than the other.

Listening to Tosh the entire mission where you side with Nova leads me to solidly believe she was telling the truth. Plus, Jim just seemed happier in general during the Nova cut scene than he does with Tosh.

Tosh is a nutcase, regardless of who you side with. He can be a useful nutcase or a dangerous one, it's true, but he's a nutcase either way. Tosh isn't the point. It's breaking out all those prisoners that's the great thing. And if Jim seems happy, then something's not right -Matt's the guy you've got to please.

StarCraft 2's second season begins today. Patch 1.3 went live last week and people had a week to play out their final bonus pool to try & establish ladder rankings. Milestones will be given out based on placements.
The bigger thing I'm looking forward to is that supposedly after today everyone will get 1 placement match and it'll be back to the races for trying to advance. I'm hoping to finally bust out of Bronze. Last week I beat a Gold player reasonably easily while still being the first 1v1 game I've had in 4 months.
