That's not realistic. Wings of Liberty was already longer than the original Starcraft. Just because Blizzard wants to tell an exceptionally long story doesn't mean they should have released it all together for the same price as a standard game. Wings of Liberty was a very long, complete game all on its own.

Starcraft(1,1X, &2) are all story...and still one of the best and more complex stories ever told in the gaming medium. (Surpassed only by Mass Effect (1&2), Dragon Age Origins, and KotOR. Definitely up there with Grim Fandango, CMI, Dragon Age 2, Jedi Knight (entire series)...far better than, say...Halo or Half-life, two series commonly lauded for their storylines.)

Huh. I never got that there was an actual story. I thought it was all about koreans wearing out mice by the thousands trying to zergrushkekekekeke.

I don't even like multiplayer starcraft (except for the custom "Star Battle" map), it's all about the single player campaign.

Oh snap. I've actually been playing SC2 again on the ladder. Looks like they addressed a lot of current concerns, although it remains to be seen if that introduces new and potentially worse problems.

I like the removal of the mothership and incorporation of the recall to the nexus. Also giving the protoss a planetary fortress option looks good. Wonder if there is a side effect like no chronoboost on them if you get it or what.

Oracle harass looks interesting too. And the cloak field, nice.

Tempest. Aw yeah. I've been wanting a Protoss air/land unit that isnt slow as ****. The look to be a faster replacement for carriers, I hope. Pwn broodlords now. Wonder how they stand up to corruptors and vikings.

I actually have only been able to see the mothership replacement thingie and the Oracle in the video, because YouTube hates my workplace and refuses to queue the streaming without preposterous amounts of coaxing that's rarely worth the trouble.

Tempest is an air unit that does an AE attack, looks to be the answer to mass muta which Protoss has a good deal of trouble with.

The other units look great too, that terran unit that attacks mech is pretty scary.

No word on release for this huh?

I'm not so sure the AOE is still in there. I was watching the MLG tournament this weekend, and I saw a couple battle reports that were made ahead of time. Didn't see the tempest doing the aoe damage... although with its range upgrade it can fire a DAMNED long way away - like longer than siege tanks far

I actually think it's ready to be released, but they didn't want to release it so close to Diablo 3.
