I'm tempted to get it, but i can't get on PSN without updating to 3.0.1, and i keep reading scary things about 3.0.1...

Ah, gotcha. I updated prior to learning that I needed to be scared of 3.0.1. I guess I lucked out; my home theater would have been crippled without the PS3 (no Blu-ray player, no upscaling DVDs...the horror, the horror!).

Same here. I put off playing BluRays/Games for a couple of days until I realized that was pointless; in the end, no harm was done by 3.01.

Same here. I don't know anyone personally that's had any trouble with the 3.0 firmware updates; if there is a problem it seems like it's limited to something like 0.001% of the PS3s out there.

That's all.

Little Big Planet is really...different. I bought a used copy of the "Game of the Year Edition." Kids love it, although parts of it can be very hard. I'm not entirely sure yet my opinion of it...

What are you finding difficult? My girlfriend and I only had any real trouble (see: had to try more than twice) on one of the last levels. Although, we have yet to 100% anything past the first world.

I've always been really bad at jumping puzzles, especially when there's a note of urgency or timing to it. :p

By the way, the firmware is up to 3.10 now, and it's now required to access the PSN Store. And 3.01 was required to play the new Ratchet & Clank Future.

I still haven't updated, because I daren't cripple my PS3 before Thanksgiving and all our company, but I'll probably steel myself and update after turkey day and all the family's returned to their homes.

Before my 360 died, I figured I'd only use my PS3 for Blurays, MLB: The Show, and a few other select exclusives. Now that I don't have a working 360, I've been buying even my cross-platform titles for the PS3. I don't see the point in going to buy a new Xbox at this point. I have such a mammoth PS3 library now, it almost surpasses my 360 library that I built up for a few years.

By the way, chalk another one up for the lucky individuals whose PS3 didn't brick from the update. I didn't even know of the problem when I updated it.

Rented Heavenly Sword to play around with it. WTF...it's Olivia Dunham from Fringe! Anna Torv was the voice of (and facial model for) Nariko.

She has never been that sexy in Fringe.

Heavenly Sword was underrated IMO.

Yeah it had its issues, but its facial and character animations were way ahead of their time.

the game was fun, despite being primarily a random button masher.

Soul Calibur IV if you're into the fighting game genre.
