I'd like to see the mods move out of the quality of life realm, but they've definitely been filling in the gaps that the devs left out.

Love that fly low/hover mod but it seems to make landings a tad wonky.

My major problem with it is it's a $20-$30 game being priced at $60.

But that's just me.

^ That, and people are entitled dipshits. It was pretty obvious what the game was going to be, but people want to believe. I feel a bit bad for that Murray guy though, they needed to hire a PR person to do all the talking. He made things worse. He was so cagey in interviews, that it's no surprise what the game is if you pay attention. He uses so many words to say nothing at all.

Hacked tweets aside, it's kinda surprising there hasn't been much word outta these guys for the last month. I'm hoping this means they're being quiet about a new content patch. But good grief. I can't think of a worse FUBAR in gaming history than this.

I suspect Hello Games won't make another game. What's **** up is SONY kinda threw them under the bus.

They'll all just be chilling on an island somewhere saying "hey, you guys remember how we used to make games?"

I dunno - NMS is one of the most refunded games in history, right?

Seems like the game isn't dead after all?

http://www.polygon.com/2016/11/25/13747 ... lease-date

Quote:
This week Hello Games will be releasing an update to No Man’s Sky. We’re calling it The Foundation Update, because we have added the foundations of base building, and also because this is putting in place a foundation for things to come.
Detailed patch notes will follow, and release will be soon.

Coming from five years of intense development, immediately after No Man’s Sky released the team spent six weeks updating the game with 7 patches across both platforms (the last of these was 1.09 on Sept 24th which you can read about here http://www.no-mans-sky.com/log/). These fixed many of the most common or critical bugs and issues post-release.

In the nine weeks since then our small team has been hard at work on development, testing and certification for the Foundation Update. It won’t be our biggest update, but it is the start of something.

The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about.

Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.

This update will be the first small step in a longer journey. We hope you can join us.

Thank you,
Hello Games

Yeah for a surprise update this looks pretty damn good. I am getting interested again and I actually believe the end of the video that says there's still much more to come. I wish they would just be more communicative to fans.

I agree, although with the massive **** that was their release, I guess I can understand radio silence. Until they had something to ACTUALLY show, saying anything would've just stoked the fire.

I'm betting they're just being silent so they can rebuild trust. They don't promise the world. They put out meaningful updates that give exactly what their release notes say it does.

I hope things work out for them.
