Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and coming soon to the US market : Call of Pripyat.

Anybody playing these, or is it just me?
I remember getting all excited about the hype back when it was first announced, then being disappointed as it slipped into apparent vaporware status. Later, it was actually released but I wasn't watching for it anymore. Finally picked it up when it hit $1.99 on Steam, and got Clear Sky shortly thereafter due to it's $4.99 pricetag. Now, I'm eagerly looking forward to the 3rd installment. Even with the bugs for which the first 2 games are notorious, it's just such a fantastic setting and the gameplay is so good that I'm willing to forgive a lot of "the bad".

I think my brother bought Shadow of Chernobyl a while back. But I seem to recall it not having English voice actors, making me not interested in it at all. But that could have been a different game.

The NPCs all speak in Russian when they're not talking directly to you, but all voice acting that is directed at the player is done in English. So, you're probably remembering the correct game, but with incomplete knowledge/information.

By the way, it's been relatively closely compared to Fallout 3 in terms of playstyle and atmosphere. Should probably give it a look-see just for that alone.

I'll likely give it a shot when I can work it into my budget. It's apparently not $1.99 anymore. =(

Picked up Stalker and Bioshock from Steam the other day. Got both of them for a total of $6.99, heh. Haven't had a chance to try either one, though.

I just couldn't get into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I wanted to, but I just couldn't. It seemed to me that there wasn't enough RPG in the mix. Maybe I'm just not that hardcore on the FPS thing, but I couldn't get used to not having a target reticule worth a damn. If I tried to go exploring, I got killed by radstorms.

Fallout 3 just fit me far better.
