The Glade 4.0

Outside of IP exclusives I can't imagine anyone actually thinking that the PS4 is going to be the better system/experience. I'm all-in on this one.

The ONLY feature that I wish the X1 had, that the PS4 has, is the remote assistance option. That seemed like a cool thing to have, even if I wouldn't make much use of it.

Re: console exclusives...

On the Xbox side, I loved Alan Wake. It wasn't perfect, but damn if I didn't appreciate what it did.

On the Playstation, I love God of War, LittleBigPlanet, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, and Uncharted.

I've never cared anything about Halo, which was always Microsoft's big ace in the hole. The Fable games never really worked for me. To Hell with Left 4 Dead; I am so effing sick of zombie crap (in all media). Gears of War was OK, but I like games with imagination, not just Grizzled White Guys pointlessly shooting faceless fodder in brown and grey scenarios.

I'm not saying any of them are bad; just that they're not my cuppa.

I'll go with $400 maybe, but more than that and I'm waiting for price drops. $600 is **** crazy.

Microsoft says you'll be able to trade Xbox One games online.

Tieieng everything together makes this worth it to me. Games will be icing on the cake.

Meh. My 360 is perma connected to the internet anyway. I have a 24pt switch just chillin over there for all my equipment .

I have not watched any of the videos or anything... but here is my take on it.

I am getting tired of the price points for consoles rising. I got rid of my XB360 and kept my PS3, because I ran out of inputs on my TV. I have a Roku for streaming, and my PS3 for Blu Ray. But before I got my Roku, my PS3 was still the streaming device of choice only because I liked the price of using netflix across my PS3 more than the price of paying for an XBL membership every year.

I will likely skip out on buying either a XB1 or a PS4 until I can no longer get games for the system I already have. As far as which system I have...

I could be persuaded to get the XB1, if they can manage one or two of the following:
Come up with a way to allow me to use the games I have purchased on my PC (Games for Windows Live only), give me backwards compatibility or find a way to make XBL free.

I could see getting a PS4 if XB1 does none of those things.

The XB1 won't be doing any of that out of the box. The closest I can see it getting is to have synchronized saves on XBL games across platform, Windows 8 / Xbox One / Windows Phone 8 (there is already a real world example of this, in Skulls of the Shogun). Backwards compatability is confirmed to not be in, though in the future they may adopt a 360 streaming model like the PS4 is taking with PS3 titles.

Xbox Live! will likely never be free.

Inflation. $600 now, is more like $500 8 years ago. Or something.
