I'm about 13 hours in(Chapter 6 now) and at this point, I don't think anything will change my opinion of Hope or Lightning. I hate both of these characters with a burning passion. It angers me greatly that they are so good in combat meaning I will likely use at least Lightning in my final party because of how good she is.

You'll get him back...eventually. When I finally got control of him again, I had 15000 unspent CP and was able to max everything available to him.

I would suggest moving to something else until you have a sentinel with 10k+ hp :p

I don't see a Cactuar in the first sets of missions.

I don't see a Cactuar in the first sets of missions.

It is number 54, apparently I unlocked it when I found the Cactuar doll that released mini-cactaurs all over the steppes (which I promptly hunted down for my own amusement and nostalgia).

I read up on farming CP. There's a pretty sweet place in those metal caverns off of Gran Pulse when you're on your way to Oerba. Right before the Juggernaut that comes through the wall, there's a battle of 5 Hoplites. That battle gives you almost 4k CP. You kill them, trigger the Juggernaut fight, then immediately do Retry. This respawns the Hoplites with a decent chance of catching them unnoticed. Without ambush, the fight takes maybe 30 seconds. With ambush, it can sometimes be done in about 5 seconds depending on grouping. Can easily rack up about 100k CP in 20-30 minutes.

I maxed out two roles (level 4) for the party I use before moving on. I left the Juggernaut there though, so I'm hoping I can come back later. Anybody else know any decent farming spots?

Whats wrong bro? He's easy peas.

Start the fight with buff/heals/tank, get buffs out of the way, switch to damage paradigm, switch to heal/buff paradigm as necessary.

Remember to destroy his armor etc before attacking the main body.

I cannot beat the ****, I survived two of the destrodo blasts, got back to full health, and died shortly after that.

And this is the first fight against him, I have tried this fight 10 times. So I shut the PS3 and walked away for a while.

Hm...I found him to be rather easy(then again, aside from Alexander, I haven't had trouble with any fights). I used Lightning, Sazh and Vanille. Started with Sazh buffing and the other two healing, then just Com/Rav/Rav his armor to dead, switching back to Syn/Med/Med when low on hp.

Also, I still hate Hope and Lightning. I just wish Snow was as versatile as Lightning was. Need to level up his medic before I can switch Lightning out for him and hopefully I can get Fang and Vanille leveled up properly with some better buff spells so I can have Sazh sit out.

Hope is the only real replacement for Sazh, until you get into maxing out your characters.

Yeah, that ain't happening. I refuse to use that sandy vagina. I guess Sazh will be in the party for a while yet.

The end was horrible. Ugh. Glad I finished this before spring break. I would have hated to wait until summer break to come back and finish it for that. Ugh...

The game was really good for all the characters in your party. Just about every other character in the game, except maybe Hope's dad, is pointless. They seriously could have taken out most of them and had the same game.

Some of the extra missions in this game are pretty satisfying.

Note - Chocobos are awesome.

The Tonberry Trio fight is fantastic. I love the strategic element that paradigms introduce, its a lot of fun to come up with combos to beat some of the tougher fights.

I found this to be incredibly wrong. I've maxed out(well, stage 9 max out) Fang's syn role and she has everything Sazh had, minus the bar and en spells, which aren't all that great. And, well...she doesn't have the single target faith, brave, protect or shell abilities, either...but reading on the wiki, the area level of those spells gives more attack power/defense power than the single target versions anyway. The only drawback being they don't last as long. But I haven't had an issue with them running out yet.

Also, I've decided to skip Snow and keep Lightning. So my permanent team now is Fang, Lightning and Vanille. I have pretty much every buff and debuff spell at my command now.

Fang doesn't have the Syn role unless you're getting into maxing out your characters. Fang is Comm/Sent/Sab.

At this point in the game, she has the syn role and I am no where near maxing my characters.
