I checked out the tabletop group on base Saturday and one of the guys is running his last tournament next week. Apparently, some shop is offering him 30k for his entire collection. He said he had just about every card. D:

I got the online version first. It was good for me, since I don't have an abundance of places to do that sort of thing overseas and the ownership of virtual cards doesn't bother me. It makes deck building super easy.

We wound up spending over $100 on decks over the span of three days. :P

That was me, and they were hair ties, in an attempt to save the cards from the cat...
But they have a box now.

I suppose we should count ourselves fortunate that things such as Moxen, Black Lotus, and the rest of the Power 9 are no longer in print ...

MTG destroys marriages ... it is a soulless pit into which your minds and motivations shall descend ...

Playing only online with Magic Workstation makes the whole hobby a lot less financially murderous.

I know all too well the siren's call of another booster pack...

Gave all my cards away years ago. Never missed it.

I had a ton of Jihad (vampire card game) cards too, I couldnt give those away, they ended up in a dumpster I think.

Good times! I didn't crack anything super awesome but the cards I pulled had a lot of synergy. Played a B/W deck with the main focus being on knight cards anchored by a knight lord that made the other knights indestructible. Throw in a lot of removal and a couple of quality artifacts, it made for a good deck. I only lost twice and that was to the same guy who wound up winning the whole thing. He had a R/G deck with a lot of big creatures and a nasty new version of overrun. We split the first two games and the third game I couldn't get to any of my removal. Once he had is critters in place it was all over when he cast the new overrun.

Had a lot of fun. Best showing I've had since I've been doing this. Hoping to get to go to the release this Saturday and have another go at it.

So I caved to my inner nerd yearning for the days of yore and downloaded the MtG game for my XBOX. I'm not very good, but that's because you can't really customize your deck(s).

Oh well, if anybody else has it and wants to play some time on XBL I'm at "I am DFK2"

Your tag is literally "I am" and there's apparently two of you?

Either there are two of me, or the previous iteration is lost in the warp.
