Source? IIRC Activision's only official statement on the matter was that it was a "limited time offer expiring December 31st, 2009" (ie, same time as their license with Marvel expired).

And to demonstrate I'd never had this conversation, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2905&hilit=marvel&start=25 is the only thread I've seen where it was brought up. And my name certainly isn't in there, nor is there a link that suggests Activision is blaming a 16 cent per gigabyte bandwidth cost as the reason they took it down.
