Mass Effect 3: Earth, an upcoming multiplayer expansion, has received a release date for the Xbox 360.

The new expansion was previously rumored and outed by Reddit user derptemp6698, but EA never confirmed now. Thanks to Microsoft's updated Xbox LIVE schedule, we now know the DLC will arrive for free on July 17 for Xbox 360.

We still don't know exactly what Mass Effect 3: Earth will contain, but derptemp6698, who was also correct in details about Mass Effect 3's Rebellion Pack, did detail some of the alleged features:

The fighting is fiercest when it's your home at stake! Mass Effect 3™: Earth adds mods, gear, and new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London. It features 3 new weapons: Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon light machine gun. Six new human N7 classes are also available: Destroyer, Paladin, Demolisher, Slayer, Shadow, and Fury!

We still don't have a PS3 or PC release date for Mass Effect 3: Earth.

Maybe the Shadow will be an infiltrator with a useful melee-out-of-cloak other than the silly Geth nova.

Also, Leviathan

Quote:
Mass Effect 3's Leviathan DLC most definitely exists, voice actor Anthony Skordi tells Eurogamer. Leviathan was first spotted in June in the Extended Cut DLC code by the BioWare Social Network.

Skordi says he will play the Reaper named Leviathan, a traitor who killed one of his own kind and has been exiled for 10 years. Leviathan controls an indoctrinated Batarian colony, where Shepard meets him and can have him join the fight against the Reapers.

BioWare is scheduled to officially announce new Mass Effect 3 DLC at San Diego Comic-Con, during its Saturday panel.

For those who have not played-platinum difficulty is pretty crazy. I've beaten wave 10 for credits about 10 times now, but only three times finished wave 10 and only one successful extraction in wave 11.
(not counting matches that we won with infinite missile glitchers)

Still, Fighting 2-3 of the most powerful units of each side simultaneously is fairly intense and requires a lot of coordination.

Best rounds I've played were with players who all planned their powers together to ensure maximum synergy. (we completed platinum is 25 minutes, for over 130,000 credits, with full extraction)

The new classes are a lot of fun. (I love my demolisher spamming Arc Grenades)

It's hilarious to see a coordinated biotics team. Using a Demolisher lets a team hole up just about anywhere, and I've cleared platinum difficulty on Glacier at least 3 times by camping up in that room by the stairs with a justicar, a cerberus vanguard, a demolisher, and a destroyer. The neverending stream of dubstep caused by biotic combos kept banshees from picking anyone up.

How well did the Extended Cut DLC improve the endings?

Enough to make me pretend they're the original endings. They add a scene or two prior to the ending closing up some plot holes and then during the ending itself add a narration/epilogue explaining the consequences of your decision alongside a concept-art style slideshow.

I like them. Will you? That's harder for me to decide. You knew the endings before you ever picked up a controller, and they haven't changed.

I am almost done ME2 finally and have loved every minute of it.

As such, I haven't yet started in on ME3 and I have a simple question. I don't keep my 360 online at all times (Long network cable from upstairs and I don't have a Gold membership). Should I update the game before even starting to play it with a quick connect and patch download? Will this update the game with the amended/updated/complained about ending?

Please no spoilers as I haven't been reading this thread at all. I want as little of ME3 spoiled as possible, and I don't want the ending of ME2 spoiled.

Thanks

I don't think the update will download automatically as a game update. You need to download the DLC from the marketplace.

That said, don't beat the game without the extended cut!

Free DLC or did they charge for the extended cut?

w00t! Based on how awesome ME2 has been, I am both happy and sad to see it come to a close.

Happy because I'll be into 3 soon enough and I can only assume it is much more awesomer than 2 has been.

Sad because it means I'll be playing 3 and not having time to play 2 over again.

What a fantastic series!

Just announced the Retaliation expansion for multiplayer, which will include 6 new maps, add environmental hazards, a whole new faction to fight (Collectors from ME2) 16 new character kits for players including Asari & Turian infiltrators, Krogan Adepts, 3 new weapons, and 5 new gear slots and a new challenge system.

http://blog.bioware.com/2012/10/04/mass ... layer-dlc/

Spoiler:
ay we are excited to announce Mass Effect 3: Retaliation, a new expansion to the critically-acclaimed Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode, and our largest upgrade to date! The Retaliation begins on October 9th (October 10th for PS3 in Europe), and will be free to download for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Watch the Mass Effect 3: Retaliation trailer now!

What’s Included in the Retaliation Pack?

New Enemy Faction

Prepare to face off against the Collector Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain. Reports have also come in that Cerberus has enlisted the Dragoon to their ranks and the Geth are deploying new Drones to the battlefield.

New Class Kits to Unlock

A host of new characters have joined the war to fight this new threat, including the Turian Havoc Soldier, Turian Ghost Infiltrator, with many more being added on a regular basis.

New “Hazard” Versions of Existing Maps

Wage war across six maps, featuring new environmental hazards and traps. A regular rotation of Firebases will be introduced to different hazards as they come under attack. Survive the onslaught of Acid, Lightening, Meltdowns, Sandstorms, Swarms and Whiteouts!

New Unlockable Weapons

The Collectors have also brought deadly new weapons to the fight: the Collector Assault Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun, and Sniper Rifle. Unlock these weapons and new equipment upgrades to build to your arsenal.

New Powerful Upgrades

Outfit your weapons with new ammo modifications and fortify your gear with unique upgrades to defeat even the toughest foes.

New Multiplayer Challenge Feature

Think you are the best soldier in the Alliance? Make sure to track your progress in the new “Challenges” database. Complete various multiplayer assignments and feats of strength to unlock titles and banners to display in-game, and then compare your progress against your friend.

How does it work?

The “Challenges” database tracks various in-game statistics, such as your N7 Typhoon usage. To earn challenge points, you’ll need to complete mini-goals. For example, accumulate 140,000 points while using the Typhoon in multiplayer and you’ll be rewarded with 10 challenge points.

What Can You Do With Challenge Points?

Challenge points are used to unlock cool in-game multiplayer bonuses, such as new titles and banners. Want other players to know that you’re a Council Operative? You can do that. Want to be the envy of your friends with a flashy new banner to display in the player lobby? You can do that, too!

Challenge points lead to unlocks, and unlocks allow you to personalize your multiplayer experience. Now, you’ve got some work to do, Soldier!

Now if only they changed the way loot worked so the MP would be worth playing.

As it turns out, my copy of the Threadonomicon has been gathering dust, so I felt the need to put it to use.

Retaliation offers some pretty cool stuff. I think this may go for me the way WoW has for others. "Oh, new stuff? Cool. I'll play for awhile and then quit until there's more."

Seriously, though. Lots of free content for this game mode, and it surprises me. The amount people pay for MSPoints must be providing at least some form of income, otherwise I can't see why they'd support this game type better than most multiplayer-focused titles seem to.

New Singleplayer DLC hits tomorrow:

Here’s the Trailer for Mass Effect 3’s Omega DLC
The new single-player add-on for BioWare's hit sci-fi threequel hits tomorrow and this video shows off new female Turian character Nyreen and some of the new enemies you'll be facing down. It'll be nice giving Aria some orders that she'll have to follow for once.

One of the best fan-made trailers/compilations I have seen for Mass Effect. Very well done. Fantastic choice of music, as well. Thought I'd share it here.
