Heh heh. Yeah they don't take too kindly to goodly folk down there. On the flip side, if you have extremely low honor they love you in Thieves landing and will offer discounts at their stores.

Found this out the hard way yesterday! May have to get a mask to start wearing there so I don't get shot up! I guess when you put enough of their friends in jail (or in a pine box), they're bound to get a little pissed off.

I don't think a bandana helps btw.

Dangit! Well at least I can wear it when I shoot the living heck out of them so my honor doesn't get dinged.

Actually, that's how I got them to stop shooting at me.... returned fire until my honor was back under control. :P

Loving it so far. Story is good, the interactions are amazing.

I'm in Mexico now. Spent some time finding treasures and I have 8 now I think.. last two look like they'll be in the last area of the game.

So addicting.

Oh, I sold mine too. You're supposed to :p

Finding the treasures, other than the monetary bonus, also gives you some perks once you hit the 50/100% marks. Free stagecoach rides and something else.

hmm, I might have to pick this up. It sounds like a lot of fun. For some reason I thought this was a PS3 exclusive so I'd been ignoring this thread.

I started playing the other day. I played all the way into Mexico then I couldn't play anymore because it got so god damned repetitive and boring. There is no variation to any of the missions. I had fun at first. Probably the first 6 hours or so. But it's just the same stuff over and over and over. The only parts I really enjoyed was when someone would challenge me to a duel. That never got old.

Story is ok, but it isn't amazing. I could probably force my self to finish, but I have other things I need to play, so I'm gonna give this one back to my brother. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I've never been able to finish a game like this.

Repetition is the basis of nearly every RPG you love, Ral.

Yeah, but at least in RPGs my character advances from the repetition. Also, the RPGs I love have better storylines than this. I can force myself to finish games with the worst gameplay of all time if the story is good. And while RDR has a decent story considering the company that made it, it isn't good enough to put up with the repetition of RDR.

EDIT:

Also, it is one of the easiest games I've ever played ever.

Just out of morbid curiosity, can you please name me some games, especially of the RPG variety, and especially-especially of the J-RPG variety, that are more difficult than Red Dead Redemption? I am dying to know.

Dragon Age is one example of western RPGs. Beyond the Beyond, Vagrant Story and 7th Saga for JRPGs, just off the top of my head. However, of those games listed, only Vagrant Story and Dragon Age are better than Red Dead Redemption. Keep in mind here I'm not saying RDR is a bad game(I'm not a fan of the genre, but I was still rather impressed by it). All I'm saying is I got bored of it around Mexico.

I have only a shortish time playing so far. One thing I find hard is how to tell who to help at roadside events.

Spoiler:
I saw a guy pull someone off a horse and start to ride away. Assuming that it was stolen I pegged him and then got an honour hit and was chased by a posse! How is that fair?

I think I need to hone my skills before I try multiplayer. For those that do play online, do you use voice communication through the xbox or just wing it?

I've also taken honor hits for similar things. Although, maybe the guy was pulling off the guy who stole his horse, and he was getting it back! Ah, the grey moral delimma of the old west. :)

OMG!

Just used my free one month Xbox live card from my repair to DL the additional content and figured I would give the free roam a try.

This is easily the best, coolest console multiplayer game I have ever played.

Sadly, my entertainment setup does not allow me to have my 360 connected to my 50" TV while also being online and additionally, a further GOLD membership just isn't in the budget currently.

I think I just played for two hours straight and it just doesn't get boring. There is always something to do. Gang hideouts, sniping random ppl trying to do gang hideouts, running up a bounty on yourself to get others' attention. I am going to play the hell out of my free membership for the month that I have it.

WOW, just WOW....and I never was a fan of the Western genre. This game just takes the cake and lives up to and deserves every good review I have read about it.
