DFK! and I recently decided to explore some non-Games Workshop wargaming options, and have been slowly exploring Malifaux from Wyrd Games. We've been having a lot of fun with it, but that's not the point of this post. The point of this post is to remind any other players out there that today Wyrd began the first phase of the public beta for their second edition. New rules are posted, along with accompanying stat card revisions for all Book 1 models plus some faction-filler from later books for the two factions added since Book 1 (Misaki, Jakob Lynch, Mei Feng and associated crew models for the Ten Thunders, Friekorps for Outcasts since they lost Som'er to Gremlins, and then the LaCroixs and a new dual faction Ten Thunders/Gremlin master, the Brewmaster, and his crew of drunken boxing-themed Gremlins to round out the spin-off of Gremlin as its own faction), plus a very small assortment of new models for the second edition. I've been having a fun evening perusing the rules and offering feedback on the generally improved formatting and presentation of information. It's too bad DFK!'s crew (he runs the Dreamer as his master) is a Book 2 crew that won't see beta rules until later this summer... |
