I know they've said Hawke won't be the hero in the game, but he was the first thing I thought of when I saw that last image. Also, I don't know if I should be saying this out loud, but Varric gave me a boner.

Too soon? I think not.

Edit: Wait, fall of 2014? I could be dead by then!!!

I stopped caring about this franchise after Awakening. I haven't played 2, since they broke with the plan and gave us a new protagonist. Have fun saving the world for Mommy.

You know, I was worried about never knowing what you think of the Dragon Age franchise. Whew!

I'm going to hide my bowl of Cheerios now.

In case you missed it, Mr. Sky; I was pointing out that your protagonist will be whatever Hellspawn the first game's protagonist and Morrigan birthed. My disappointed with Awakening and the abrupt closing of Origins would not have prevented me from playing the sequel, had Bioware delivered the sequel promised. They didn't; they changed protagonists, abandoned all of the ground work the first game established for the world, and went in a different direction. Quite honest, my response here was about the transparency of their plotting and the observation above: your protagonist is Morrigan's hellspawn.

My point is that you make a mission of going into any Dragon Age or BioWare thread and shitting on it. We know you don't like BioWare, or Dragon Age, or Mass Effect, or Jade Empire (or, or, or)...so why waste your time coming in and complaining? You're not going to change your mind, and all you're doing is engendering ill will toward those who DO like BioWare and its various wares.

And we've just reached the steady state value of any BioWare thread. Good job guys, your reaction times are improving.

I agree with Khross in that DAO2 was the Super Mario 2 of the DA world. I am really hoping they get back to the Dragon Age world, if so I am in. If it is one city with the same zones repeated I am out.

First off, no. You are not the old god baby. Bioware has repeatedly said that since not everyone picked that ending, they were not going to make it a major plot point(if they mention it at all). Second, that child would barely be 10 or 11 years old as this game happens shortly after Dragon Age 2(which takes place about 9 years after Dragon Age: Origins). Third, Bioware never said they were going to use the same protagonist in all games, especially since at least a third of them are dead after defeating the Arch Demon(the let Alistair or let Logain do it endings weren't very popular or chosen nearly as much as the Dark Ritual or Sacrifice endings).

Bioware did promise a single protagonist series for both Dragon Age and Mass Effect initially. For Dragon Age, that the 2nd game would not feature your Warden was not known until fairly late in its development cycle. That change caused a lot of negative feedback.

I find it amusing how quickly the Internet has forgiven EA now that they've announced a new Bioware game.

My first thought was just this. Then I said, no, can't be. It must just be the new Morrigan. That or Flemeth once again, got younger.

Dragon Age 2 was a far better story than the first one. It was very very well told. And the characters were spectacular, far more interesting than those in the first game.

As a game, it was highly flawed, but ultimately, I didn't care. Yes, they reused environments. I don't know about the mechanics... I cheat through games like this.

I still haven't played ME3. It may end up wowing me by the time I get around to it, but the available endings didn't impress much. It seemed to undo everthing I did in ME1 and ME2.

I'm thinking DA3 can't give that feel. While they maintain continuity and connecting characters, the fact that they ultimately will contain different protagonists and different companions should help prevent that feeling of betrayal.

EA is the big evil conglomerate that screws up all the awesome releases produced by the many great studios that they've absorbed.

DA:I brings back multiple choices for races.

http://www.polygon.com/2013/8/7/4597070 ... able-races

While I typically pick humans in games like this, I was saddened to see that was the only choice in DA2. I enjoyed seeing the starting stories and backgrounds for the other races in DA:O.

As long as they keep a voiced protagonist, I don't care if you can choose different races.

:) I have dumped all of my console EA titles to Gamestop. I still have PC versions of KoTOR and KoTOR 2. I have absolutely ZERO interest in this title either specifically because it is EA tainted. (hehe I said taint)

This X100. You really don't know how much it adds to the game until you go back to an older game without it.

Unfortunately the two options are voiced protagonists and Silent protagonists.

Voiced protagonists interfere with your perception of who the character is.

Silent protagonists are nonsensical.

Pick your poison.
