It's fun to kill people.

Edit - dammit! Spoilered for irrelevance.

I believe that's a Rust strip, Lenas.

FYI: your thread title lacks clarity. I assume you're talking about DayZ Standalone, which is still in Alpha, but there also exists the DayZ Mod for Arma II, which has been around for a couple of years.
I used to play the DayZ Mod about a year ago, then dropped it and moved on to other things.
I haven't yet played DayZ Standalone, but fully intend to do so at some point.
Similarly, I have plans to play Rust and 7 Days to Die, but haven't yet picked up either.

So, no feed back.

Also, just for Shel:

I'll never understand the seemingly unlimited capacity of some of you to act like people who should just be punched in the mouth.

You posted in a thread, the OP soliciting an opinion.

You contribute that you have experience.

Rather than weigh in, you critique a nuance.

**** you, you ****.

There you go, earning that merit badge again.

What kind of feedback are you looking for? I played the mod, and intend to play the standalone - I don't know about you, but that seemed to me like a positive endorsement.

And what is there, really, to be said about a game like this? There's you the player, an inexhaustible supply of zombies, and there are other players who at any given moment can only be trusted to do whatever they feel like doing. There are no NPCs, no quests, no objectives other than to stay alive as long as you can. Your every experience in the game will be heavily influenced by either the presence or absence of other players, and any opinions you garner from others will be based on their own unique experiences which may not resemble yours.

As for critiquing a nuance - it matters. I have played the mod, but have not played the standalone game. Thus, I can share some thoughts on how the game mechanics work in the mod but have nothing at all to offer with regards to the standalone game. Not wanting to offer utterly useless input by telling you how I feel about the one when what you really want is information about the other, I asked for clarification - namely, about which "DayZ" are you asking?

So instead of viewing my response as me acting like someone who should be punched in the mouth, try to see it the way it was intended.
'Cuz from my side of things, this is how that conversation has played out so far:

Rynar : Anybody know anything about DayZ?
Shelgeyr : Which one, the mod or the standalone game?
Rynar : Shel, you're a ****.

Based on that, I'd say you'll fit right in with the DayZ community. Survive long enough to scavenge some decent gear and you should be force-feeding disinfectant spray to n00bs in no time.

Then I owe you an apology, though the merit badge is well earned. The internet is a lousy conveyer of intent, regardless the responsibility is mine. I suppose it would be valuable to disclose that I haven't been an avid gamer for years.

I greatly appreciate the info provided in your second post.

Thank you.

FWIW, Paulie is generally my go-to guy when I'm contemplating a new game. There are other people out there who do "Let's Play" series, but I like his better than the rest.
