Shares in Japan's Nintendo Co Ltd (7974.T) soared again on Monday, bringing market-value gains to $7.5 billion in just two days as investors cheered the runaway success of Pokemon GO - its first long-awaited venture in mobile gaming.

I'll be honest this game is making me leave the house more often and stay outside longer when I do.

I have the app on my phone, but it's too damn hot to wander around all the time. Pokemon never show up at home or work, so I don't see many opportunities to catch them. My wife caught around 20 at the grocery store today.

Yup. I'm having fun, but Pheona has been waiting for this for her entire life.

I'm not sure I even know what it is (other than what I've seen on news coverage), but I think I ran over some people playing it today on the bike path. They were staring at their phones running around not paying attention...

bad things happened.

Edit:
Please, lets use a little better judgement in regards to where we hunt our pokethings...

I played a little bit. I also played Ingress, so I had a good idea where most pokestops and gyms were.

Ultimately, I decided to quit. I don't need another game gnawing at me saying "Log in. You're missing something. Open the phone again. There could be something good right here." Especially since there is a pokestop near my work and when someone puts a lure on it, I can catch things from my desk. I don't need that kind of distraction.

It felt good to make that decision.

It's crazy how much it is popping up in discussions or news online.

I was too old for Pokémon when they first came around, so there's no nostalgic draw. The concept of the game is interesting, though not enough for me to feel like downloading it.

Ingress + DragoNav = easy way to identify where 1, 2, 3 foot range pokemon could be around you. My wife is getting pissed she hasn't been able to find a Vulpix around our place for a couple of days and I'm pretty sure it's hanging out at a burger king.

Tried it out, not crazy about it.

Five of my employees were standing together in the parking lot when I got back from lunch today though, and one caught a Pokémon in our monthly IT meeting. It's eventually going to become an issue here.

2 California men fall off edge of ocean bluff while playing 'Pokemon Go'

Darwin reached out for these guys but they eluded him...for now.

So, I have to say, this is basically complete madness. There are people.. teenagers.. outside! We're basically living on the surface of the sun in summer right now here, and every time my family goes for a walk there are people everywhere.

The parks, the libraries, the museums, they're all getting used. This game may be responsible for improving the lifespan of humanity as a whole by quite a bit.

My wife and I are having a great time playing, and while our kids are still a little young for it, they're definitely enjoying looking through our collection and clicking on them to make their sounds.

I paused a live event the other day to run a couple blocks so I could catch a Tauros.

Is this real life?

Same deal, I totally had to duck out one night with both mine and my wife's phones so I could catch him for both of us.

Absolutely surreal.

I'm playing on hard mode, living in the suburbs/small town. I can go across town to find some Pokestops and catch Pidgeys on the stretch of street between the library and the county administration building. My side of town? An absolute desert. I don't even get credit for the walking I do at work, as I'm not allowed to bring my phone on-site when I have to do work away from my office.

Meanwhile, I get to hear the anecdotes of "I rolled out of bed and caught X" and "Oh yeah, the reservoir behind our back yard spawns magicarp constantly while I work from home" or "Yeah, I hatched 5 eggs last week at work"...

I hatch 3 or 4 eggs a day just walking my dog. Always have 9, had to get some incubators.

Add me to the list. This game is not only silly, it's a hazard to people playing it and those around them.

I'm not that grumpy. Besides, I haven't seen a Tauros, yet.

This game is no more of a hazard than handguns.

Look, you can't fix stupid, but now you can give them Pokemon GO and let them go outside during rush hour.

There are a lot more people walking around in public with their face shoved in their phones than there are walking around waving their handguns in the air. It is most definitely more dangerous, although I can only hope I get the opportunity to run one of these idiots down and then collect insurance for the repairs.
