So, its downloading to my 360 now. (I have yet to purchase an Xbone.) I know we have players here... where do I start? Helpful tips? Read a couple of things to *not* use the "gift of light" or Spark or whatever. Yes? |

You don't have to use the spark, it just bumps you up to level 20 I believe. Play though the story missions, you will get there. Not sure how active the 360 is still but they stopped updating it a couple months ago. Honestly, the game is easy out of the box, follow your ghost and go. Have fun. |

I played through it being late to the party. I did not use the spark since that was the advice I was given. I don't feel I was better off for going slower. It's more a matter of whether you want to grow into your class or just be given everything right away (like skills). I thought pretty much all monsters scaled to your level anyway. But yeah, follow the ghost. Don't go looking for a story, you won't find one. Your only hope in that dept is reading lore cards on while you're on the toilet. Doing strike playlists when your level permits is usually worthwhile. |

A companion app is nice. There is an official one from Bungie or the one I use is Ishtar Commander. I pull this up on my ipad while I'm playing. I can't remember all the features of the official, but IC lets you: - transfer items between characters (without re-logging) - transfer items in/out of the bank (without going to town) - change your equipped items, shaders (gear dye), sparrows (your hover bike) |

Incidentally, this is a pretty good explanation of the basics before Rise of Iron. |

Is Rise of Iron on the 360? |

I think RoI is the one where they said they can't support 360 anymore. It was either that or Taken King. |

Yeah, what Dal said. Besides, $30 for one raid, one strike, and a 2-3 hour campaign hardly sounded worth it. |

Can Strikes be soloed? I don't think the population on the 360 is level ~15 or so and wanting to do the level 8 Strike. Also, I hate grouping. |

Strikes cannot be soloed, no. You have to go through the matchmaker and get a group. |

You're matched with people automatically when starting a strike and you wont start until the squad is filled. At least that's how it used to be. However, once the strike is started you can bet someone will probably drop out and you might have to solo it anyway. |

I've done plenty of strikes solo. That being said, it is always nice when you see someone has come to help. |

What's so bad about it when matchmaking is automated and you can completely ignore your group mates? Just start the mission and run around shooting **** while you pretend the other two are NPC's. |

Right! They can't talk to you unless you allow it. Even if they are idiots, you can still carry on and get the job done. |

Because I'd rather not wait for the system to try to find two people my level doing the strike I want to do. Queues suck. |

I'm not sure it's that way anymore. The other day I tried to do one. Admittedly I was looking at my phone while the matchmaking was going on, but I got dropped into the strike and there were no nametags for fireteam-mates. My guess is if you stick with it long enough, it lets you do it on your own. |

Are the wait times that bad? Back when I played I never had to wait longer than like 30 seconds to get a squad. |

I rerolled a Warlock and have noticed some significantly longer wait times than when I first played it. Pretty sure it's more a function of my level though because as I gain more levels, it's less of an issue. |

Add to it that he is still on the 360. Wait times are going to be longer but you will launch at some point alone if it doesn't find anyone. |

Ah yeah I'm sure the 360/ps3 communities tanked once Bungie stopped supporting them. |

Ok, so I tried Destiny 2's beta since it's on PC - I don't get why everyone is so hyped. It's a nice looking average gameplay FPS. the double jump is neat, but it felt like I was just a random mook with 3 guns. I only played the intro level, and you can definitely tell the game is NOT well designed for people who have never played the first one. Also, the menu shake/movement when you move the mouse is distracting AS **** |
