This is a new from the people that make The West. The era is ancient Greece and you build a city, and armies and such, which sums up all I know about it.

http://www.grepolis.net/

I just started last night. YOu need to build your city, which is what I'm focusing on (not that I'm focusing on the game much, but figure what the heck, I'll click if after I click The West.

It is...similar to Travian. Which I stopped playing because I just couldn't keep up with other people and would get attacked all the time. I'll give it a go and see how things are.

Well, my BP (beginner protection) runs out today (it's been a week already). Over-all it does not seem like a bad game, but I have not been attacked by others yet either.

My entire island seems to be full of newbies like me and about 1/3 (myself included) are part of The Federation alliance.

I'm struggling to build-up as fast as I can, but what is the "right" path? Hard to say as the game is new and there is not a lot of information. Ranking wise, it seems better to build up your Senate and get as many new buildings as possible, but I've been trying hard to get my resource production cranked up to be able to support the resource needs for city growth.

My "army" only consists of 20 regular soldiers, but it takes so long to recoup the resources through raids to make mass producing them worthwhile (which also blocks resources from city expansion).

If anyone has more experience and or thoughts on what to do better, I'd be glad to hear them. The below stats are from memory.

Senate: 9
Timber Mill: level 12 (-timber procudction on island, current rate 88 per hour)
Farm: level 7
Quarry: level 8 (+ stone production on island, current rate 81 per hour)
Warehouse: level 6
Silver Mine: level 9 (no bonus to silver production, current rate ?? per hour)
Barracks: level 5
City Wall: Level 1
Cave: Level 1
Academy: Level 2

Swordman: (no cost) - 20
Slingers: (unlocked) - 0

I'm playing a similiar game to this on Facebook. Its call Kingdoms of Camelot. You can appoint your friends as Knights to help your production and lead armies into battle. Best Facebook game I've played.

Anyone playing? I'm still at it, I want to say preparing for my first conquests, but it will be a while before I am prepared for that. Although I found a nice 2K city that is inactive close by. Talk about perfect for picking!

I'm playing still. I enjoy it a great deal more than I enjoyed Travian, that's for damn sure.

Huh. I used to play the game Earth 2025; they also had a medieval version called Utopia. These games - including the Facebook versions - sound very similar. Earth 2025 has shut down, unfortunately, but was kind of fun. Seems they were kind of ahead of their time, perhaps.
