Synopsis:

The beginning of the end of an era -- the PS2 appears to be going through the early stages of its death throws (if this sales trend continues of course). That is the lowest I have ever seen it.

ME2 is on fire (and sounds like it deserves it).

No Bayonetta on top sellers.

Everything else seems pretty respectable.

It still boggles my mind that so many Wiis are being sold.

Yeah. I have every game on an external hard drive, that I can load at any time with an iTunes-like, coverflow interface, and I still don't play the damn thing.

So you're saying you have 10 games worth playing? That's really not much...it's no wonder! :D Ok, let's get away from the Wii bashing like the last NPD thread turned into. Month after month, I truly am shocked to see the numbers for Nintendo and the three or so titles that it has in the top five. It's like they never change.

Mass Effect deserves to be where it's at.

What boggles my mind is that some people just don't get it that their little view of the world isn't what everyone else is doing.

How hard is it to conjecture that people actually like things that you don't? That people will actually spend money on something you don't care for?

The system is cheaper than the competition, is family friendly and (for the most part) doesn't invlove button mashing sequence that can take hours to perfect to play. Gee, and people ACTUALLY BUY IT?

The Wii has done a lot of good things for gamers, but I'm not talking about content or titles. It has shead light on the community. It is bringing more people and more understanding to the gaming world. It allows older generations to interface with technology, their children and grand children and the gaming community in ways that are just not possible through PS#/X-Box.

Dislike the system all you want, but it seems pretty silly to bash it because it doesn't meet your specific gaming needs and then criticize the system as a whole as it outsells anything the "competition" has to offer.

I have no illusions about my Wii, it is clearly a vehicle to pimp my own childhood back to me at $50 a pop again. The only games I enjoy on it solo are remakes.

PS: Still waiting for Goldeneye Nintendo. You bastards.
