Their prices are ridiculous across the board. I saw a price list for services they offered a little while back, and you could charge half what they do and it would still be really good money for most of the services.

Made me think I should just hit up all their customers for things and tell them I would do it for half what the best buy guys do, you could make good money that way.

Their target market are clueless people with too much money and not enough sense. Hardly a crime. It's not that much a stretch to be competitive I suppose you could take 90 minutes to do all that (what's the acceptable industy rate these days $75/hr?, plus travel fee.)

It's like anything else in the service industy I suppose. You're not paying for the work as much as you are that percieved piece of mind that comes with white shirted men in black ties that drive around in brightly painted hybrids. The percieved notion that you're dealing with a "professional" and not some yahoo with a van.

I'm waiting to see their hourly rates posted for coming over to your house and playing your console games for you.

I always laugh when I see the "Let us install that for you." stickers on 360 games.

I probably would have charged $50.00 - $75.00 to install and set it up for the TV. That would also include a cable.
If They had purchased a TV with it and needed that set up with it, then the $129.00 would have been more in line. I try to keep my prices low, I also tell people that I accept tips as well. It doesn't hurt, and you would be surprised how many people do still tip for doing a good job at something they really don't want to do no matter how easy it really is.
