Mythic URL on the issue Slashdot on the subject wrote: "A screw-up in EA's Warhammer Online billing system has resulted in many players being charged upwards of 22 times for a one-month subscription, filling bank accounts with overdraft fees and the Warhammer forums with very angry players, who are discussing the issue quite vocally. EA has said that refunds are in progress and that '[they] anticipate that once the charges have been reversed, any fees that have been incurred should be refunded as well.' They haven't specifically promised to refund overdraft charges, only to ask customers' banks to refund them once the actual charges are refunded. They seem to be assuming banks will have no problem with this." Mythic's credit card vendor is overcharging customers. They claim it is just an accident; but one person (around page 11) said their bank has had 600 customer disputes. And figuring 15 disputed charges per customer, this is upwards of $100,000 from this one bank. This does not even consider the other customer financial institutions... |

That's a pretty huge screw up there. But I'm more surprised the game has more than 600 subscribers. |

I actually really liked warhammer, in the end it just didn't end up clicking with me. I still can't put my finger on what it was that was missing exactly, but most likely it had something to do with the fact that the servers just felt really empty even though I would run into other players on a somewhat regular basis. Oh, and public quests are probably the best new mmo idea in years, I'm amazed no one has copied them yet to my knowledge. |

Yup, I enjoyed the Warhammer world. Tried it, played it for about a month and a half, then went back to WoW. Hard to beat the juggernaut. |
