Great vid. I remember when it first came out. Gus Serrola before he became huge with Red vs Blue. |

Awesome Farsky! Thanks for the link. I just gave up on Steam now that I have my MacBook. And I've wanted Portal for some time. Now I get Steam back and I get free Portal. |

I don't know whether to be sorry that it took you this long and you've been deprived of three years of fond memories looking back at the experience whenever cake or GladOS gets mentioned, or happy for you that you're finally going to get them. |

Or, you can feel bad that he is now suffering through one of the easiest and boring puzzle games of all time. |

I played it for the first time last week too. Meh... |

EDIT: Actually, I'm having trouble remembering hating on other games recently(though, I won't deny I've done it in the past). Can you refresh my memory? I'm honest here. I seriously can't remember. |

Steam question (and I've submitted a CS ticket to Valve but don't know how quickly they'll respond): I purchased Torchlight back on Wednesday, as soon as Steam for Mac was released. I downloaded it onto my MacBook Pro, and my work computer (Mac Pro). Everything seemed copacetic. I finally got around to setting up my home computer (an iMac) tonight due to the move. I downloaded Steam and Torchlight, and fired it up. I should have known something was amiss when the character I made on my laptop didn't appear automatically, as the game supports Steam Cloud, but didn't think much of it. I finished the first level (something I hadn't yet done on the other computers due to lack of play time available to me) and was presented with a "thanks for playing the demo!" message. Sure enough, I exited the game to the main menu and saw a small bit o' text that said "demo" in the bottom left. Steam recognizes that I've purchased the game, and I'm signed into my Steam account on the iMac. I checked the other computers, and they connect to the cloud fine and don't say "demo.". The only difference I can think of among them is that the iMac isn't running Snow Leopard, but rather just Leopard, though by the accounts I've seen, that should make no difference. I'm updating to Snow Leopard now to see if it helps, but I'd imagine this is an issue on Steam's end. I've checked to make sure I'm not signed in simultaneously to Steam, but still the issue persists. Any thoughts? |

Might have mis-downloaded on the iMac. Delete it from your hard drive, and try again? |

Tried that, but it didn't work. I finally got a response from Steam; the problem was in fact on their end. Sometime between the launch and the day when I set up my iMac, they screwed up the files being pushed out, sending demo files instead of the full game. They said it had been fixed, and sure enough, when I checked this morning it was connecting to Steam Cloud and had removed the demo restriction. |
