From GamePro Mag:

Included in the article (while im reading)

- Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.

- Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."

- Will be like Inglorious Basterds.

- All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!

- Will include arctic levels.

- One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.

- Game is playable in 3D!

- Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."

- Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."

- Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."

- The scale is supposed to be "bigger this time."

- The Jetpacks are "surprisingly lightweight and agile, Killzone 3's jetpack is easier to maneuver compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games."

- New weapon called the Wasp, basically shoots a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.

- Will show off the Helgjast culture.

- There is actually a Helghast language, which will be explored in the game.

- Will have "diverse locales."

- Have to sit in the center of the 3D tv for the 3D effects to work.

- 3D in this game is called a "Game Changer."

- Going to have "Intense Action"

- Jetpacks double as a weapon, which basically means a machine gun mounted right on top of it.

- If you shoot Helghast with jetpacks, they'll "explode like roman candles"

- To control the jetpack, you "have to activate bursts of speed in midair, propelling yourself across further distances."

- The Jetpack resembles something you'd do in platformers such as Super Mario Bros. Or Uncharted

- In one mission, you have to use the jetpack by "launching yourself from glacier to glacier"

- You'll see "a lot of" snow levels.

- Everything is more spread out in this game.

- The game looks very complete.

RUMOR: PSP2 Unveil

Spoiler:
From VG247.com:
Quote:
* MCV rumoured last week that Sony “could” announce PSP2 at E3.
* VG247 goes digging. According to a source familiar with the matter, it’s “99 percent” it isn’t an E3 reveal.
* But there’s much, much more.
* Multiple British sources have confirmed that PSP2 NDAs have been in place at publishers and developers for many months.
* PSP2 has two cameras, one forward and one backward facing.
* It has a touch-screen, but apparently it has retained the trademark physical PlayStation buttons.
* UK sources were previously working towards a “2010″ release. This is now “2011″.
* One source would be “amazed” if there was any kind of physical media involved. We’ve been told it “could” be 3G-enabled, as opposed to the WiFi-only PSP go. This bit was sketchy.
* Multiple PSP2 games are being made in Britain right now. Some have even already been canned.
* There have been “finished units” in the UK, but we haven’t spoken to anyone that’s seen a final case.
* When asked directly about reveal timing, one source said, “If the games were aiming for end 2010, beginning 2011, and now it’s a 2011 release, I’d say a gamescom or TGS announce for launch early next year”.
* One source told us the machine is “**** powerful,” being based on a four-core Cell CPU. PS3 runs on an eight-core version.

RUMOR: PS3 XMB Re-Design

From examiner.com (Full Article):

Quote:
On the last episode of the CheapAssGamer podcast, CheapyD stated that he knows that Sony will show a PS3 XMB redesign at E3. He doesn't delve into what changes will be implemented or if it'll have new features like cross-game chat, but it's certainly something forward to. If true, they'll likely release the firmware the same night of the announcement.

CheapyD: “I’ve heard that the Sony PS3 is getting a completely redesigned XrossMediaBar. Like totally new, not just like new columns and stuff like – totally redone.

Since Sony hasn't officially stated any such plans, this is considered a rumor for now. We'll know for certain in a month.

Probable Coverage: PlayStation Move

Hmmm can't really think of anything significant. Maybe someone who follows Nintendo more than I could say.

Possible Wii HD.

Huh. A female COG gear, and not the redhead chick from the comic. That's a surprise to me.

My brother seems to think it is the girl you meet in the beginning of the first game that feeds you mission information throughout the games. I haven't read the gameinformer article which is where he apparently picked the information out, but I still somehow doubt it.

But, anyway...Gears 3 will finally have 4 player co-op. Which will be a total blast.

Wow, that's pretty awesome.

The chick looks too buff to be the intelligence officerette from the first game, IMO, but we'll see.

I'm looking forward to seeing more on New Vegas. Probably my most anticipated game of this year. I'm also hoping to see something for Mass Effect 3 and the mystery Dragon Age title that they announced with Awakening(just the date, though. Silly bastards). I'm also looking forward to hopefully getting some more information about the advanced classes in Star Wars: The Old Republic. I'm hoping the talent trees are less like WoW and more like Everquest AA.

Should be interesting.

Haven't hear anything really new on Warhammer Online.

Haven't seen too much out there that has not already been revealed about Fallout: NV.

Mass Effect 3 (unfortunately) still under tight wraps.

Here is what I have found on SW: TOR MMO, courtesy of NeoGAF.

Something to add to Sony's camp:

RUMOR: Possible Premium PSN service details at E3

Quote:
From: VG247
VG247 has learnt that Sony is to reveal plans for PSN’s premium services at E3.

According to a highly-placed source, Sony will announce a large-scale monetizing scheme for PSN at the LA show, but we’re assured nothing planned will impact the service’s current free aspects.

A string of features will be revealed, apparently costing “less than £50 per year”.

Sony will confirm plans to give all subscribers one free PSN game per month, from a choice of “two to four” every month.

“If you work it out, PSN games cost an average of £6-9 each, so over a year you’re basically going to be breaking even,” said our source.

A streaming music application similar to Spotify will be announced in Sony’s press conference on June 15. It’s thought that this can run in the background while playing games.

Rumours that cross-game voice chat is being saved as a paid feature are apparently not true, we were told.

“I can tell you now, 100 percent, that that’s not the case,” our man continued.

“There’s nothing in the premium package which will gimp regular PSN users.”

The PSN premium services announcement is thought to be a major part of Sony’s E3 conference, which will also heavily feature Move.

It’s thought that a PSP2 announcement, for this reason, is unlikely, and will be saved for either gamescom or TGS later this year. Get more detail on that here.

Rumors of a premium service have been floating around for a while, so I would not be surprised if Sony actually went through with this.

As much as I like the universe I can't imagine how it's going to work well on the small group scale, unless you limit the scope (like the pnp does to inquisitor parties). Then again maybe that's what people said about Warcraft.

Some more stuffs:

Killzone 3

Tons of new pics in here.

Natal

Quote:
Natal will launch in the US this October with a price tag of $149.

That’s according to a trusted source, who told us that the motion sensing camera will also be bundled with the Xbox 360 Arcade console for $299.

We were informed that prices outside of the US would be determined based on a number of factors, including exchange rates. Based on current rates, the standalone unit would retail for £103 / €121, and the console and Natal bundle for £207 / €243.

The figure for the standalone unit is significantly higher than a previous sub-£50 estimate, but less than pricing recently suggested by European retailers. It’s also more expensive than Sony’s Natal rival Move, which will be available later this year with a game for less than $100.

Our source said that the device has been pencilled in for an October 26 worldwide launch, although we were advised that the date could yet shift by a few weeks either way.

We were also told Microsoft’s camera definitely won’t be called Natal and that its proper title will be revealed at E3 next month. It will also be heavily targeted at causal players and families.

“Microsoft expects to sell millions and millions of Natal units in its first year on the market so you can expect the software launch line-up to target non-traditional gamers,” our source said. “A major marketing campaign will also play a key role in attracting and educating the expanded audience about Xbox 360’s controller-free revolution.”

When contacted about this report, Microsoft told us that it "does not comment on rumour or speculation”.

Team ICO collection apparently coming:

Quote:
That Team Ico bundle that sneaked its way onto the internet? It’s real, TheSixthAxis has been told this morning, and it’s due Q1 2011.

We don’t currently have much other details that we can spill, and for obvious reasons we’re branding this a rumour, but our source not only confirmed that Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be heading our way on a Blu-ray disk for the PS3, but also that we won’t see the double pack until the beginning of next year.

Sony declined to comment on the date and details when we asked them.

Wow. So, let me get this timeline straight:

* Sony discontinues backwards compatibility on PS3 models.
* Original BC models start failing, Sony offers non-BC models as fair replacement.
* 1st Party Sony developer recycles old games onto PS3 compatible format to resell.

Wow, that's über-awesome.

I'd have to have more details, but it sounds like they are doing the same thing they did with the God of War collection -- re-master them to be true HD with trophies.

Many have speculated that Sony would take an alternate route to getting PS2 games on the PS3, and this may be what they are looking at doing, and it seems like a good idea. Many would love to be able to play their favorite games from last gen with new technology and trophies.

Emulate on PC and have your own HD, screw the trophies.

Sign me up for the 'not rebuying all my games for fancier graphics and trophies' group. Normal old backwards compatibility, please. :(

Some day in the hopefully not-too-distant future I will have a new computer, and can properly run PCSX2. It shall be a good day.

The thing that annoys me about the "we want to resell you all our old games rather than offer real BC" thing is that it reinforces copyright claims, taking emulating that game out of the grey zone of abandonware/obsolete format (where fair use has more leeway) and into straight-up disallowed territory.

Yup. Was playing FF12 on it last night. Sometimes it sucks fiddling with all the settings but when you finally get it right, it's awesome. FF12 in the emulator looked better than some games I've played on the 360.

It just requires some decent horsepower to run it.
