Natal is no more. Say hello to MS Kinect. Apparently taking the casual route as well (not that that was much of a surprise). Price (Updated from E3): $149.99 for just the Move (+ basic game package, I would assume -- better than the original $189.99, but not by much) / $299.99 bundle with Arcade unit / $399.99 with more premium 360 package. MS is too late in the casual movement game to price a glorified controller that high. Failed peripheral. Calling it now. |

There's no way this will fly. I never thought it would be very popular in this first place, but this is just retarded. |

The pieces (consumers) have already fallen into place, and the dust has settled in regards to the console market of this current generation. They'll have a hell of a time pulling anyone away from the Wii, considering they'd have to invest in a 360 console, plus this add-on (though I figure they'll have a combo pack, obviously). Even if it's only $300 for a new 360 console, which includes this new add-on, it won't attract many Wii-only casual gamers. At $300, that'd be a steal for this. It just won't work out too well for them, but I'm still interested personally. |

I've been waiting for this year's E3 to decide if I'm going to be going the xbox or ps3 option. I have a wii and was hoping for some kick arse fighting games with the natal or some really intense rpg. I'm now more leaning towards the ps3, but I'll wait to see the release titles before I decide and bite the big money chunk bullet. |

They've released a pretty new Xbox bundle to kickstart this thing, $299. Runs quieter, has built-in 250GB drive, and built-in Wi-Fi. |

Yanno, the 250GB HDD is nice, but I don't really care for the new design. Toss in a Blu-Ray player, change the disc tray to a slot-loading input, and remove the shiny finish and I think you might have something, but as it stands now, I'm more than happy with my Elite. |

It's much quieter, the new hard drives are much nicer/neater/less-cumbersome than the originals, and the power brick is a little smaller & much lighter than the original. Plus it has the connection for Kinect built right in. If you have an original console, you'll have to use USB with an external power source for Kinect. Plus, I love the shiny black finish. |

Screw MS for putting in the built in WiFi now and not right away like they should have. |

Why on earth do people keep thinking Microsoft is going to pony up royalties to Sony? Half the reason MS went with HD-DVD was the licensing language on BluRay. |

Right, unlike Game Developers, Microsoft is neither stupid nor willfully going to give up profits and intellectual properties to Sony's contracting. |

DarkRoland: Sony clears more off a 3rd party game on BluRay than the 3rd Party per unit. Hell, they cleared more per 3rd party title on DVD during the PS2 era than their 3rd party developers. |

Sounds like smart business to me. Anyway, this gen is weird. You have PS3 trying to be like the 360, the 360 trying to be like the PS3, and both trying to be like the Wii. Hell, even the Wii has started trickling out more "hardcore" games to be like the 360 and PS3. |

Rodahn wrote: Sounds like smart business to me. Well, of course YOU defend Sony. You say it's smart business, and I look at all the games that don't get made or don't go to the PS3 because of Sony's business models. I look at the fall out of things like EA's Online Multiplayer Announcement in context of how Sony does business and realize: EA's losing money on resales because Sony charges EA money for matchmaking on the PSN. Sony's hurting this industry for all of us. And it's really **** amazing they can make Microsoft look like a good guy to development studios.

I'm fairly disappointed with how gimmicky the Wii ended up being. I still enjoyed the first party games and NO MORE HEROES2. I'm skeptical about natal. I don't expect much, but we'll see what happens. It's certainly hyped enough, which is enough to make my wary of the whole thing on it's own. The motion control's lack of any feedback are a hindrance imo, but it makes sense for them to dip their toes in to the gimmick. |

My main problem with motion controls is as soon as I have to move when playing a game, it goes from a video game to exercise. I'm not big on exercise when I'm trying to relax and play games. I mean, if I wanted to move around while playing a game, I'd play a sport. I also realize that most Wii games don't exactly require a whole lot of movement, but Kinect sure as **** does. |

I still think Sorcery (Move) looks really neat. Hopefully they trend toward more of that type of game. |

I replayed twilight princess a couple of days ago and remembered why I had such high hopes for the Wii... I just want them to attempt at making a good solid (None party game) on the Natal (even on the ps3 for that matter). But all I see atm is gimmic after gimmic. I'm patient, I can wait for the gaming industry to catch up ... |
