Didn't we have a Diablo 3 thread already? I did a search and didn't see one. So I'll just start a new one. |

I'll be honest, none of the previously released classes really thrilled me. But the new Demon Hunter class looks awesome!! Really looking forward to that one now! |

I wonder if we're going to continue the Diablo trend of class determining your gender. |

Corolinth wrote: I wonder if we're going to continue the Diablo trend of class determining your gender. No. As I have actually played the game last year at Blizzcon, each class can be both male and female. Just not at the same time. Some of the class designs weren't finished then, so we could only play male monk and female wizard, but both the witchdoctor and barbarian had male and female choices. |

Intriguing quote from Blizzard on their employment opportunities section: Quote: We’re exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we’ve said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we’re interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project. If you’re passionate about all things Diablo and have the requisite skill and experience, then head over to our jobs site to check out the positions and apply.
Please note that this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don’t intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to delay or affect the release of the game. |

Yuck. Console controls just don't work for Blizzard style games. |

When is this anticipated? |

Raltar wrote: Yuck. Console controls just don't work for Blizzard style games. I wondered that myself. Some classes require lots of buttons and hotkeys -- how on earth would they translate that to a controller? It would have to either be stripped down or have a few master buttons bring up multiple banks of hotkeys. Diamondeye wrote: When is this anticipated? The game itself? I've heard rumblings of late 2011, but I'll believe that when I see it. The possible console version? No clue. Probably a year or two (at least) after PC launch. |

According to this site, you only get 7 active skills. Quote: First off, it should be re-iterated that each player can now only have seven skills at their disposal. While there will be a lot more skills to choose from than seven, you will only get seven skill slots to use and put your selected skills into. Keep in mind, that's 7 active or hotkeyed skills. All 'passive' skills have been renamed traits, and will have their own tree. So it might not be too bad on a controller, actually. Not that I will play this on anything other than a PC, but I'm just throwing that out there. |

Probably a year or two (at least) after PC launch. I'm holding out hope that it will be released in June of 2011. June has been a big month in the history of Diablo. Diablo 2 was released in June of 2000, The expansion, LOD, was released in June of 2001, and Diablo 3 was first announced on June 28, 2008. If they release it in June of 2011, not only will it be 3 years since they announced it (which btw, most of their games have released around 3 years after being announced), but it will also be the 10 year anniversary of the release of LOD. And we all know Blizz is very keen on anniversary dates. WoW was released on the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise, for example. |

Starcraft 3 was playable at blizzcon 2 years ago. Or was it 3? I still wish I could have played a build where the Thor was built in the field as a siege engine. Woulda been fun. |
