It looks like there's a Kaz interview in Famitsu this week. I haven't been keeping up with GT5, so I'm not sure what's new, but here's what Game Jouhou has in its summary:

The game includes elements surrounding the driver's personality, strength and mental condition.
There's importance placed on driver management
During endurance races, you can swap out drivers
The weather will change in real time during races
The game will have racing modifications, although not for all cars

I'm not really in a racing games mood at the moment, but after this game being in development for six years and costing 60 million dollars to develop, I'm pretty sure anyone with a PS3 should own this. It will be THE showcase title for the system.

Definitely pretty.

That game looks absolutely gorgeous...

Unfortunately, I no longer own a PS3, and since I don't really care much for driving sims, I doubt this would provoke me to buy another one.

I'll definitely keep an eye on it and look for a chance to try it out somewhere.

It is an amazing looking game, no doubt...but all of those amazing graphics are 100% wasted on a racing game. Because racing games suck.

I'll give it a try. I used to hate racing games but back when the Project Gotham series was out, I fell in love with it. I still think that was the best racing game out there.

Nitefox,

This isn't really an arcade driving game like the PG series. It's more of a driving simulator, like Forza.

As far as driving games go, I tend to prefer the arcade style games like PGR3/4 or even the burnout series (which were both a lot of fun, but neither could be confused for a 'Simulator').

Much <3 for Burnout. Those are the only racing games I like. GT5 looks incredible, but I don't think I would ever play it. I'd watch someone play it, though.

I don't care too much for racing games either, but this will be getting a purchase for 3d goodness.

I'd just love to get me one of those spiffy blue PS3s.

Will probably get this one, breaking my streak of not owning a GT game since . . . the first one :P

To be fair, Gran Turismo generally has 80 cars and 10 variants on each, with each variant being counted as a separate car.

In order for this statement to not be erroneous, one would be required to consider something like a 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 RS a "variant" of a 2010 Porsche 911 GT2.

Or an RB20 powered R32 Skyline a "variant" of an R34 Nur-Tuned Skyline with an RB26DETT.

And I would guess the GC pre 2000 Impreza guys would send hitmen down South if you equates my GD 06 to a "variant" of their car.

Nice, the Fiorano is in as well as the 787B. And the three JGTC NSX's.

All is well.

And those are just the premium models. There will (supposedly) be hundreds more non-premium cars. I think they said near 1000 cars total.

Well yeah, but only if you opt for it. My PS3 has tons of unused HD space. (My 360, since it allows full game installs, almost always has none. :)

DFK is at least a little sad he just bought a 360 as of this announcement.

EDIT: Nm, Chrome working again.

Anyway, yeah, optional is good. Lotsa PS3 owners would get hosed if this was mandatory. I'll have to take stock of my HD space and see if I can take this option.

Been waiting for this game forever now, definitely picking it up when it comes out, especially since it will even have my car in it cause very few games have the Dodge Magnum, for the LX platform they normally just have the Charger and Chrysler 300.

Same, I have over 300GB of free space on my PS3 so no worries there.
