Could've sworn we had a thread for this game, but I couldn't find it in my short attention span. Frank West makes an appearance! Quote: A blurry "photo" that's appeared on Dead Rising 2's Tape It Or Die blog shows the game's protagonist Chuck Greene getting a little help from a journalist who has been known to cover wars.
While it's pretty difficult to tell from the screenshot, we're pretty sure that blurry guy busting heads with Chuck is none other than Frank West from the original Dead Rising. The pic showed up as part of a post on the viral Dead Rising 2 site Tape It Or Die, where survivor Johnny Pipes recounts seeing someone else fighting by Greene's side. So, I go after him. But then I see some other dude. Vaguely recognized him. Maybe saw him at a party a few years back. Maybe a celebrity. Can't remember his name, though. Phil? Floyd? Regardless, he was fighting zombies, too. It was like Oktoberfest! But replace beer with zombies! And drinking with slaughter! It was like I'd died and gone to heaven. That's Frank, buddy. |

Not out until the 28th. If you want to know whether you'll like it, get Case Zero. That's pretty much 1/6 of what the real game will be like. |

I'm thinking about getting this off Steam. I'm not sure how it'll control though until I get the Xbox 360 PC controller. |

Sorry about triggering that bossfight, Hop. I was hoping to find food down in that bathroom. |

Is cool. I should have been doing homework myself. A lot of my weapon combos were from Case Zero, and one (MMA glove + Nails) was from looking at an advertisement for a movie. |

After some contemplating, some advice for those contemplating co-op: 1. Don't pursue Lu Bu. Don't hug your partner. Stay relatively close, but keep his weapon reach in mind and stay out of it. Nothing hurts quite like taking the backswing of a Spiked Bat in the teeth. If they've got a melee weapon, learn the damage arcs, and stay out of them. They probably won't need your help unless you can hear them yelling for it. 2. One for me, and one for my homies. Try to carry two food items at all times. One for you, and one if your partner drops. You can't revive your partner without food, so you need to keep some on hand. The rez timer is fairly generous, though, I think. 3. Dom, you're blockin' my shots. Try not to hit your partner. Be aware of where they are. Be aware of what weapons have friendly fire disabled (hint: snowball cannon). You don't want to feel like a jackass because you knocked your partner into downed state and had to burn a food item. 4. Hey! Listen! That Y button that you use to kick the survivors' AI out of "ARGH ZOMBIE HORDE SHOOT SHOOT" mode back into follow mode? It's also good for getting your partner's attention, especially when you're not being followed by survivors. Conversely, if you hear your partner yelling, they probably want your attention. (Don't abuse it. The last thing you want is your partner to ignore you when you're hip-deep in zombies and your last weapon just broke..) 5. Share the wealth. If your partner is using his fists, drop a weapon you aren't using. If your partner is low on health, drop him a food item so he can recover (if he's all out) so you don't have to burn a couple blocks on just reviving. Don't abandon your partner. If either of you dies, the host is going to be deciding whether to reload or restart. |

Also, as an aside... the missions keep ticking down in Co-Op. It is sadly not a zombie-murdering free-for-all. |

Just finished the game the other night, enjoyed it for the most part. It's a little easier than I had hoped, and the story is pretty lame all around. Also, best weapon I've found is the boxing gloves + bowie knife. It's quick and does a good amount of damage. Also very easy to make, both parts you need are literally right outside the safe house. Once I discovered these, they're all I've used really. The MMA gloves + nails are pretty easy to make as well, and roughly equivalent from what I've done with them. Some of the other weapons are really fun, but impractical (can't switch to other things without dropping them) or a pain to get parts for. |

I am sorely disappointed you cannot combine a knife with the pipe-wrench to create a kid-friendly weapon that is useful in all circumstances. |

You're a little high-strung for a guy who's covered wars, you know. |
