Now they need to do an episode of people who are addicted to bad crime drama shows.

Nah. That'd be like the News doing a report on why watching too much television can be a bad thing.

It is honestly making me consider writing a letter to the station and complaining about stereotyping gamers as fat people who have no connection to real life.

Sadly, it's true more often than it's not.

Is it? Or do you only think it is because of the media stereotypes?

After all the MTG tourneys I've been going too, I'm inclined to agree with Azile.

If we're going to go by anecdotal evidence, most of the gamers I know are in the military so I'm going to say they're in much better shape than the rest of society ;)

I'd also point out that perusing the Flora and Fauna thread, there's a healthy dose of fit and trim mixed in with the guys like me who could lose a few pounds.

Granted, that might be a self-selecting sample because it's a picture thread on the internet, but...

In other words, it looks like gamers might be primarily composed of regular, everyday people?

And it's not like there's overweight guys who are totally obsessed with football (and other sports) and losing their grip on reality. That would just be silly!

I think a better point here would be as soon as there's an activity created, there will be a fringe that is lost in complete obsession. There were people obsessed with beanie babies for God's sake! In general though, just normal, everyday people.
