What day is good for everyone? I can play tonight after 9 eastern, or tomorrow around 10 eastern (possibly earlier). Saturday I'm not sure. This weeks challenge is to pick one unit, announce it at the beginning of the game, and build only that unit. 3v3 or 4v4. Obviously you can build workers, and overlords for zerg. Observers were ok too for Protoss. But one attack unit. Make it an interesting one! I've got mine picked, not sure how it will work out though heh. This is just for fun, so feel free to join in no matter how good, bad or often you play. |

I'm definitely down for this ... And Ravens. |

I can probably tear myself away from Civ long enough to have some fun at this. I'm glad somebody will be doing Ravens, so I won't have to. My micro and Raven experience is not good enough to do them justice... |

Ok lets plan on tomorrow night then. I likely need to miss the gym anyway so it works out. Should be on around 9ish eastern. |

Diamondeye wrote: damn I totally missed this! What ended up happening? We had good success against the AI in various combinations. I did vikings every time, Dash did immortals every time (I think). Khross went with various stuff; ravens, hellions, and I think he may have done sentries the first round, when he forgot to change his race from "random".. Crim started with carriers, then switched to scouts when he decided it was way, way too slow. Crim called it an evening and Khross, Dash, and I played twice against human opponents. We got beaten pretty soundly both times, because they weren't limiting themselves, obviously. It occurs to me, after the fact here, that I should have tried ghosts at some point. |

Cool. Maybe I'll run ghosts this time. I don't do so often enough at all normally, and it'll be WAY faster. |

In fact, when I first heard about this, it was the first unit I wanted to try. I doubt I'll get a chance to get in on this with you guys, so let me know how it turns out, Kaffis. A crap-ton of ghosts sniping targets sounds incredibly fun! |

Yeah, I shied away from ghosts towards vikings because the ghosts are undoubtably going to be more micro-heavy, and micro's not my forte. In that respect, mass vikings worked well. Fly them over to where they were needed, get behind the enemy when I can (so the immortals don't get blocked out), and hit D to transform to ground. When they run out of space to fit, shift-attack-move (so as not to disrupt the currently attacking ones) to an empty spot and hit D again. Repeat. The problem, though, is that the vikings really don't do so hot on defense. Something decent against light comes along in equal supply, and they get torn up pretty bad. Mass stalkers pretty much ate me alive, and it's not hard to do. Ghosts, on the other hand, while still light, will get the option of cloaking as defense. Hit and run strikes might turn out to be a lot of fun. I will admit, though, that when one of the players we played against whipped out some void rays, I quickly disabused him of that notion (though I got caught across the map at the time, sorry Dash)... |
