Being on a Diablo kick recently, I decided to re-load Titan Quest + The Immortal Throne expansion.

Titan Quest remains that best Diablo clone to date, IMO (and there are some elements of TQ that I think surpass Diablo).

Despite its name, Titan Quest actually spans several different mythologies -- Greek, Egyptian, Asian -- with the gear/items reflecting those different locations.

Worth checking out if you can find a copy of it anywhere.

Not sure how a lvl 32 is fighting a bunch of 20-somethings, unless he down-stepped difficulties. Either way, here's a basic example of game play:

I've had this game, with the expansion, sitting in my Steam library for quite a while now. I have too many games to get through, but I do really want to get into this game. I'm looking forward to it.

If you do play TQ, make sure you get the Fan patch. It fixes a lot of bugs and adds a lot of cool stuff, like vendors that sell potions that allow you to change you character's appearance.

Like this:

This is just a few of the new appearances.

Here is a link to the forum post where you can get the patch. link

There are lots of other mods/tools to use, too. TQ Vault for backing up your characters and/or archiving items. TQ Defiler is really nice, it makes some really cool changes to the game code, but it can be used to cheat, too, so you may or may not want to mess with it. I choose to use it myself, since the benefits are pretty nice, and you can turn the "cheats" off.

Just like Roophus, I have this game sitting on Steam, uninstalled (got it with the THQ master pack in the summer sale). So many games to load. Your post has definitely made me want to check this one out.

Yea, it's an excellent game. It's a diablo-clone, but it's probably the best one out there. The masteries give you so many different combinations of skills. And the "gear-hunting" is almost as addictive as Diablo 2. It's hella fun multi-player, too. Damn, I'm gonna have to re-install my copy and play it again. Diablo 3 really needs to hurry up and release!

I had the original on disc already but not the expansion. I thought it was pretty good, but I may have never given it the attention/time required to really get into it.

I got this in that THQ pack too and by chance I just loaded it up late last week and have started up a Haruspex (Hunter/Dream).

And yes, D3 needs to get here.

On retrospect, I should have gone something other than Nature for a secondary to Warfare. The heal is nice and all, but I just feel like I could be doing so many other cool attacks/effects with another tree.

Damn that's a steal!

Course, Iron Lore folded not too long ago, so it's not like we'll be seeing any future TQ releases (from them at least).

I've played the hell out of this.

Finished it with Warfare/Dream and Hunter/Rogue. Hunter/Rogue was definitely more fun to play just for the fact that most enemies were completely screwed when attempting to even get near you. Weak as a kitten if you're hit though.

Warfare/Dream, on the other hand, was basically impossible to kill.

Woot! There is still hope . . .

Iron Lore reformed into Crate Entertainment, re-acquired the game engine license to Titan Quest, and is making a new action/RPG called:

Grim Dawn

Definitely keeping an eye on this one!
