This is the only reason I watched the VGA's (which were terrible). Next year can't come soon enough. |

Considering there are no other award shows for video games, the largest entertainment industry, I'm amazed how bad the VGAs are. I'm also amazed they are still aired on Spike, rather than a bigger network. The VGAs always come off as being a half-assed thrown together popularity contest, rather than a legitimate award show. Some of the oddball nominees and voting contributes to this opinion. |

ME2 was amazing, I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a game an entire year before it's release. |

I was disappointed with Mass Effect 2. I played it for a few hours, and it just missed. I don't know, perhaps I'd have gotten into it a lot more if I wasn't brought back from the dead to be Cerberus' lapdog. |

I'm hoping they can dial it up to 11 for part three and finish with a bang. |

Watching that trailer reminded me how good the musical score was for the first Mass Effect. |

If that's your only complaint, I say keep playing. The story and universe is so awesome I wouldn't let that deter me. |

I actually never finished the first ME. I got to the last planet before the end of the game, and got distracted by other things. I plan on eventually finishing both games, but they are low on my priority list for some reason. I agree that they have a good storyline and it's well-crafted. I just was never fully sucked-in to the point I couldn't tear away. |

The first one, I played for a bit, then put down and let sit until the 2nd one was about to come out. The 2nd one though, I played straight through. It seemed like the pacing was much more steady on the 2nd one. |

I'm assuming ME2 follows the same intro area -> four locations to acquire the McGuffin -> betrayal or big decision -> final battle format as every other Bioware game? |

It's bigger (with far more than four locations to visit), and the big decision is much, much later (pretty much after the final battle), but yes. The way it handles the final battle (with your whole crew involved in various ways, rather than just your party of three), was very new. Also, getting to play Joker as the main character for a bit was different. You've been talking to Khross too much. |

On a related note: ME2 PS3 version footage (final code or beta was not specified) Also, they said ME3 would hit all platforms (meaning PS3, 360, and PC) simultaneously. |

PSA I just got a **** bug while playing ME2. If you are like me and you decide to revisit ME2 before the launch of the next game, you might care to know that Lair of the Shadow Broker has a bug that can keep you from recruiting both Samara and Thane. Luckily, I got Thane before it happened. The main thing that you need to know, is that you have to ask Liara about Samara and Thane's whereabouts before you initiate the DLC mission with her. I didn't find out that I was stuck until I had already done like 6 loyalty missions, the overlord DLC and some other side **** so I can't just reload an old save. Don't let this happen to you! I'm currently stuck at level 30, everyone loyal, with the reaper IFF but I wont be able to get "No One Left Behind" without Samara. Bioware knows about this bug but hasn't made a damn peep about fixing it and it's pretty frustrating. |

Digital Foundry did an ME2 comparison of the 360 vs PS3 yesterday after the demo came out. Notes: - PS3 has a new shadow/lighting renderer, sometimes better, sometimes worse - Framerate has been uncapped on PS3, results in some good frames but also tearing - Normal mapping seems to be pretty cut-back http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digit ... o-analysis |

^^^ So a mixed bag basically . . . Wonder if they did a general de-bugging? |

I'm sure Mass Effect 3 will fare better on the PS3. The real question is...what are they going to do about ME1 imports? The default non-import Mass Effect 2 sucks balls and it would be a huge downside for the PS3 gamers wanting to play. |
