That was probably better than the entire series of games. |

Eh, I dunno. The video was funny, but I don't see it winning over a dozen "Game of the Year" awards. |

Just amused by the hate. |

I like God of War. But anything after the first is basically God of War...with better graphics! They play exactly the same. |

I think God O' War had more true wow factor when it first hit because of how unique it was. After that, as Raltar said, it basically just evolved at the "on-the-surface" level (that and the fact that the imitators starting hitting). God of War 2 and 3 were amazing games in their own right (and it remains one of my favorite series to date), but I can't really fault those who don't see the appeal, because (when you come right down to it) it's basically a simple action game with blood, boobs, and button presses, starring a main character who quickly snuffs out any reason to sympathize with him (until the very last installment of the series). There's nothing really going on at a deeper level, just visceral combat and a few puzzles thrown in that normally require killing something or someone. That, however, is also its main appeal with a lot of people. |

Yep, I absolutely get it not being everyone's cup of tea; it's certainly aimed at a very specific target of player. But apart from that, the series has a lot of critical acclaim, is known for having quite high production values, and each game in the series finds new ways to push the hardware on which it runs. So the "probably better than the entire series" hate is IMO a tad unfair. |
