I watched the whole thing before posting. I've seen videos like this before with different versions of Mario. I just don't see why anyone would ever play them. Unless they want a rage stroke or something.

Actually, in one of his other videos, I think he sums it up nicely. "This is like the video game version of cutting your wrists."

I like the whole rom hack idea. However there is a difference between "Hey lets make some new mario worlds, and maybe adjust the difficulty a bit" and the sadism on display in those video.

The whole up and over thing with the Yoshi, that's inspired imo, but the rest of it with the perfect timing and the enemy jumps is just a bit too much.

I'd like to see the level designer play through his own level in a single pass with no save-states. I doubt even he could do it.

When I designed levels for DooM, I made them challenging and in some cases a bit mean. But I never made a level I could not personally beat, and not with "If you don't do this next part exactly as I say you should, then you will fail."
