Interesting thread on NeoGAF that I thought I would ask here.

For me:

Half Life 2 -- Many hail this as the second coming, but really, save for the (at the time) cutting edge tech, the game was incredibly boring. I finished it only to see if the ending tied up or made some kind of epiphany. It only left me more confused --
Spoiler:
a giant grub talks to some old guy who you defeat and then you're on some kind of ethereal train with a Man in Black /scratch head

Metal Gear Solid 3 -- After the 5 billionth jungle screen with yet more guards you had to sneak around, or a boss you had to tranq to get the extras, I stopped caring. Last battle and ending were only awesome parts. Even Eva's nympho hotness could not save it for me.

EDIT: I guess I can also say any MMO (if one could argue that the end game content of the current expansion is "completion"). At this point, my recently found enthusiam for WoW has petered out, and it's only out of some strange sense of false obligation that I log into EQ2 to raid anymore. Not sure how much longer I can keep the denial up.

I generally don't finish a game unless I find it enjoyable. But Beyond the Beyond, the very first RPG for the Playstation was one of the most horrible games of all time. And I still finished it. Even though I was getting into random battles every three steps. I'm not kidding, either. Every three **** steps.

Wow I forgot about this one. And yeah, same here for similar reasons. What really took a lot of wind out for me though was when you got cursed and had to fight your way up to this witch in a tower, with those curse detriments on you every battle. Ugh . . .

Heh, to a degree me too anymore. Uncharted 2 was the last game I finished in any reasonable amount of time.

As much as I like them, I still haven't finished Little Big Planet or Killzone 2. Just take little nibbles out of them as I can, knowing one day that I will finish them. Gears of War 2 on the 360 side of things.

It's getting fairly rare now that I finish a game. They just don't hold my attention as they used to in the past, so you know if I finished a game that I really liked it.

Kane and Lynch is the one that comes most recently to mind.

One more to add: Halo 3. Was basically Halo 2.5 with slightly shiner graphics. The plot was all over the place and the ending fell fairly flat with me. Had to finish it to see how the wrapped up the series. Crappily was unfortunately how.

Back in the day, Secret of the Silver Blades. Damn that was **** tedious after about halfway through with the nonstop random encounters.

I have said over and over, since Half Life 2 came out, "Half Life 2 had an awesome story! It's just that Valve doesn't share what it is with the player."
