I'm thinking of getting into the BioShock series as my next video game fix, but I'm wondering what platform to go with. I have both PS3 and XBox, and I'll be buying a new midrange laptop (docked with an external monitor) in the near future. Between the PS3 and the XBox, which would you guys recommend? From what I've read, it seems the original had some issues on the PS3 that may or may not have been corrected in subsequent patches, and for BS2, both platforms are pretty much fine. Does that sound about right? As for the PC option, I'm leaning away from using the computer, since (i) it's in the "office" room, meaning I'm kind of isolated when playing and thus less likely/able to spend a few hours on a gaming tear, and (ii) 47" HDTV > 23" Monitor, but if the gameplay really is significantly better on PC than on the consoles, I may bite the bullet. I know you can't beat mouse and keyboard for FPS generally, but how important is it for the BioShock series in particular?

PC would be my preference (though my PC is run through my big screen so that changes it up for me). On the consoles though, oddly enough, I'd have to say PS3 for the first one if you want all the options and 360 for the second one. (Playing through Survivor difficulty was the most fun I've had with Bioshock 1, and afaik that's only available on PS3).

PC would be the way to go with any cross platform game.

Whichever system you prefer the controls for.

Unless you want to play with friends on a specific platform, or haven't upgraded your PC in a while. :)

Mouse and keyboard is something I spend 8 hours a day on, so I don't enjoy gaming that way at home. Anything with a controller is my preference.

Bioshock's one that I wouldn't argue strongly for the PC on; it's not a big modding community or anything. So go with what you think is comfortable to play with. Mid-range laptop vs. aging generation consoles is probably a wash, performance-wise for these titles.

Yeah, I'm finding this myself more and more. Feels more like a disconnect when I don't go home and get right back on a PC after 8-10 hours of work.
