Being the most technologically advanced DnD player you know by a WIDE margin? Priceless.

And yet, WotC decided the Digital Tabletop wasn't worth their time and shelved the project (despite having at least 2 of the 3 major components of it in publically displayable beta states) six months ago.

By the way. Want. Hell, I don't need Surface; a client-server over IP software with an interface as slick as that would be nearly as geekgasmtastic.

Shuyung, the Surface isn't going to cost that much once it goes into the home market. Right now it's commercial-only, though, so it's understandably higher.

I have not seen a suggested price on a consumer Surface device. Your objection may or may not make a difference.

Unnngggg.

And, heck, I can't even watch the video from work. Still, sounds pretty much like the coolest gaming thing ever.

Oh yeah, and ... very cool. I agree with the article's author, however. That virtual die-rolling is a bit craptastic and I don't think I want to give up the experience of rolling actual dice when role-playing.

Some companies are selling just the screen instead of the full table (which is what the surface is). So you could hook it up to your own PC for a little less money. Still in the $7k range currently though.
