Has anyone else played World of Tanks? I have become addicted to it. It is a free to play game that came out a few months ago. There are micro transactions that can help you advance but the free play is a lot of fun. Since it is a new game it has some issues, most notably the match making process once you get up to tier 5, the spotting system still needs some work and some minor things.

Its a lot of fun though blasting away blowing up other tanks, I have never really been a PvP person but this game has brought it out in me.

I've seen it and it looked intriguing. My problem is that I am not the biggest fan of modern military games (I define modern military as anything post 1930), so I don't play the "Calls of Black Battlefield Duty Ops 1942" games out there.

WoT does look interesting though and I can see others getting a lot of enjoyment out of it.

I believe I read that the developers of this game are working on a "World of Jets" or something similar. Which would mean it's either 1. A game where everyone is playing football for New York. 2. You are part of a Mormon Polynesian band from the '80s. or 3. Everyone has a jet fighter.

Actually it is World of Planes, and the planes will cover roughly the same time period as WOT so 1940's - early 1950's. There will be some early prototype jets but they are mostly going for Bi-Plane and WW2 aircraft. They are also going to do World of Ships but not much info on that yet.

I signed up for it (beta, maybe? We had a thread here about it a few months ago), but never actually installed it. Would like to - I love tanks - but can't quite see myself spending any time on it.

Ah, maybe it's the first-person shooter thing. I'm not a big fan of those (nor is my hardware!).

It's very first person shooter in the way you control it, but slower paced. My wife likes it, and does not like any other FPS. Her big game is WOW...gag....

I have several friends playing it. It doesn't really appeal to me. It is fun to watch for a round or two, but I get bored with it quickly.
