Totally underrated game.

Flagship just chose an unfortunate business model (i.e. lavishing their online players with cool stuff, and leaving the single players to get sloppy seconds).

It's Diablo, but with cool future tech and first-person mode.

I started a Marksman, and am blasting everything in sight. Soooo viscerally satisfying on a primal level :)

I totally agree. Loved the entire concept of Hellgate London. (P.S. The novels are pretty good, too.) I really hope someone in the community is able to mod it so that you can play multiplayer or something. I've tried going back and playing it a few times since Flagship went belly-up, and I just can't quite get into it since you can't do multi anymore.

I played it in beta and when it first came out. I think the biggest issue was that it wasn't really all that different than Diablo so it felt like more of the same at a time when Diablo 2 had been pretty much played out.

There were some cool features of it, and the concept was kinda cool. It just wasn't "new" enough to keep my attention.

I read the title as Re-Legoed: Hellgate London

Now that would be a **** sweet game.

Oh interesting. I wonder what, if anything, will be different in the re-release.

Hey, they Lego-ize just about everything in the video game realm. I wouldn't put it past them . . .

Well, Hellgate is now playable again in the US. It's been in beta in Korea for a while now. The beta for US access opened up in July. Open signups are available.

Downloaded the client yesterday, and played a little last night. You can definitely see some Korean influence on the game. They've made a lot of skill changes, some of which were being tested on the Test Server before Flagship went belly-up. You can also gain access to The Stonehenge Chronicles and the 2nd content update The Abyss Chronicles, that was only available on the Test Server.

Anyway, thought I'd post this here, in case anyone had any interest in it.

And, just for fun, here's a cinematic from the original release:
Spoiler:

Will definitely look into this. A friend of mine bought the original, and it seemed interesting, but sparse. It looked so... empty. It wanted to be massively multiplayer, but the single player was just incredibly barren. It had potential otherwise, though.
