http://graphics.stanford.edu/~mdfisher/GameAIs.html Awesome!! It would be really fun to tweak this and use it against people on Battlenet. He published all the source code. |

Um isn't the point of battlenet to play against people. If you wanted to play against an AI doesn't one come bundled with the game? |

I don't think that's really the point of this project. This is a technological masterpeice. This AI interacts with the game the same way a human would. It analyzes the video data, not a direct game data stream. it manipulates the game through mouse movements, clicks, and keyboard. (Albeit electronically simulated.) Regardless of its tactics, this alone is quite the feat. It sees the data the same way a human player would, and is subject to all those same limitations. The point is not to make a really good game AI...there are better ways to do this that would outperform what Lex linked. The point is making a human-like AI, forced to deal with human interface limitations and overcome them. The AI itself is the project, not "beating starcraft 2." |

It was mostly because it could micro every unit on the screen at the same time. For example, if any mutalisk gets damaged it can make it run out of combat just in time while the rest of the mutas are still shooting. |

He says it can almost always beat "hard" game AIs, although it's mixed against the "insane" game AIs. That says nothing about how it works against people, however, which he has not tested. |

It's far from a fair matchup. Even hard AIs get extra resources. |

Considering that the in game AI doesn't micro for ****, it's not that impressive that he can beat the game AI because the game ai sucks giant dick. He needs to play it against other real players and see how it does. |
