Microsoft's Flight Simulator series, which was in dormant state until now, will see a re-launch this spring and that too for free.
The name of this series will be simply "Flight" and players will have free access to the digital sky with this simulator. In other words, it will be available as a free download; however, the user would need to buy additional content to enhance their experience. The content that can be purchased includes aircraft as well as new environments.
The most amazing part of this game is the user can experience some real life locations like Big Island of Hawaii along with "region-specific weather patterns, foliage, terrain and landmarks" company statement says, reported USA Today.
"Flight" also features exact details of planes that are used in real world. If the player has Windows Live account he is entitled to bonus contents such as extra missions, achievements, etc.
The Flight Simulator series by Microsoft was launched in the year 1982. The new version will be released in spring this year on the official website. As of now a demo video has been released along with a link for closed beta participation.

Let's hope the free version has enough content to satisfy my minimal need to play a true to life flight sim and then I can get on with the rest of my life. :)
