gog.com has been talked about here before. I personally love the site a lot and I have probably spent way more money there than I should have. |

Great site. I've purchased stuff from them too. The nice thing about them is they pre-configure all the games to work on current platforms of windows, so there's no need for you to worry about getting them to run. And they now have Thief and Thief 2. That alone makes them awesome. |

Dash wrote: Dune II was awesome. It was pretty much the great-granddaddy of all current RTS games. I don't think I could ever play it again today, knowing how much I would miss and get frustrated over (no multiple unit selection? ouch). But back in 1993? I had no other games to compare it to, so it stood apart and by itself on a shining pillar of greatness. I even bought the remake in 1998 or 1999, called Dune 2000 (with John Rhys Davies). Pretty much the same core game with a more cohesive storyline, cutscenes, newer graphics and interface, and units (if I remember right). "Warning: Wormsign." |

Oh man, I feared those worms! It's only good for nostalgia now hah. Harkonen was so OP with Devastator Tanks! Atreidies got "Fremen" which were just like 5 random weak *** infantry you couldn't control and spawned wherever they felt like iirc. Although Atreidies had the Sonic Tanks too hmm, those were pretty cool. When you could get some dopey enemy unit to path over a spice bloom, so satisfying. |

Harkonnen got the tanks, yes, but their real problem was the nuke missiles that destroyed entire city blocks. You're right, the Atreides super weapon was the fremen. And they sucked. They *might* have been a little more useful if you could control them, but no, they were CPU controlled and therefore subject to CPU piss-poor attack logic. |

Of right the nukes, forgot all about that. Atreidies also had the Ornithopters aka bug planes which you also couldnt control. Lame-o. |

Picked up Syndicate for 50% off this morning. That makes three games now (Sim City 2000, Rollercoaster Tycoon, and Syndicate). |

Quest for Glory 1-5 for $10 on GoG? Sure, I have all of them, but if they all work in Win7, count me in! I never could get QFG5 to work right. |

When facing the Harkonnens I just built up my stuff in two separate areas and the missiles would fall harmlessly between them. |
