http://www.webpronews.com/star-wars-131 ... ed-2012-06 might be a new angle on star wars -- less jedi, more crime. Grand Theft X-Wing perhaps? |

You had me at "less jedi." The premise of this game sounds great and is what I have been looking for in a Star Wars game for a while. Edit: That link took me to This Link, which contains so many layers upon layers of unbelievable and unrefined raw awesomeness that I am surprised that I have not exploded yet. I think it will happen soon, like the whole "five-point palm exploding heart technique." I have no idea how I missed this before. |

Ok. Sold. Just as long as there is still an option to not be an evil *** hole. |

Gameplay footage. Holy crap. This could easily turn into my favorite Star Wars game since TIE Fighter. And that's saying something. I pray to every single god that every culture has ever prayed to that the main character is NOT revealed to have some super special latent Force abilities and I pray to every single devil as well that they do NOT turn him into a damn Jedi later in the game either. I will make it my life's mission to punch every developer of that game in the nuts if that happens. So, developers: take heed. You don't have to be a G.D. Jedi in the Star Wars-verse to be cool and interesting. Look at Boba/Jango. Look at Wedge. Look at Han and Chewie. |

I wouldn't mind if he had the Force(Jedi are central to Star Wars...they are what make Star Wars Star Wars, after all). I also wouldn't mind if he doesn't. What I haven't been able to gather is what era this is set in, though. |

What I haven't been able to gather is what era this is set in, though. I wouldn't say they are central, but they are not a small part. The majority (read: screentime) of the original trilogy was more about spaceships, blasters, daring rescues and escapes. Jedi are just more flashy, so people revolve around them more. Jedi are the wizards of the star wars universe. Sure, Ed Greenwood sells a lot of Elminster books. But there's a hell of a lot of other cool books and games where the main character does not use magic. My main and favorite character in SWTOR is a Sith Warrior, so I am not averse to force users. I just like to take a break from it now and then, because the other parts of the Star Wars universe; the lived-in, futuristic, cool spaceships, fly by the seat of your pants also can make for some amazing stories and a hell of a good time. Plus any non-force user that can take out a Jedi/Sith is far more interesting and heroic/menacing to me. |

What I'm saying is that without the Force, Star Wars would just be some generic space setting. Jedi make it unique and interesting(not that non-force users are boring. As you said, Han and Chewie aren't force users and are super awesome, so was Kyle Katarn before he became a jedi(not that him becoming a jedi made him less interesting or less awesome)). I don't think Star Wars would be nearly as popular as it is now without Jedi and Sith. |

To be fair, I'm reasonably certain Lord of the Rings would be pretty dull without Mordor. |

Star Wars without the Force is Battle Beyond the Stars. |

Re: that video - "This game will literally blow you away!" No, no it won't, you chode. Not really intriguing me, but then I don't really think highly of Star Wars as a world/setting. If the story and gameplay are good, maybe. I will say the graphics look nice. |

IT seems this game has been delayed indefinitely since the Disney announcement. http://www.eucantina.net/archives/15707 eucantina wrote: The very impressive looking and possibly next-generation video game Star Wars: 1313 hasn’t been heard about since its last major showing at Star Wars Celebration VI in August. When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and thus LucasArts, word started to spread that Disney’s video game focus would be more on casual games than AAA console titles like 1313 was shaping up to be. Some fans started to get nervous. What did this mean for 1313? Would development shift to a different developer as Disney decided how to best use LucasArts? Would the game be cancelled? It wouldn’t be the first time an anticipated Star Wars video game has been cancelled, as people hoping for a Battlefront 3 know well. LucasArts has stated that production continues on 1313, but they don’t say in what capacity. Kotaku has been doing some digging and it looks like there is a strong possibility that the game has been put on hold as focus at Lucasfilm shifts to the sequel trilogy and standalone films, rather than the long planned live-acton television series that 1313 was originally slated to tie into. It’s worth reading the whole Kotaku article to get the full details, but the gist of it is that 1313 could be in trouble. While fans have been busy wondering what the fate of The Clone Wars will be and making sure that Disney knows we want more of the show, we’ve almost forgotten about this stunning game. If you’re a fan of Star Wars games, now is the time to let Disney know that 1313 has the potential to be something great. It’d be a shame if this game becomes another Battlefront 3. Interesting. Clone Wars spent the last 3 episodes of this season venturing into the lower depths of Coruscant, in fact they Hit levels 1315 and 1312 by name. |
