Or, Tournament Didn't Happen, but we Still Wanted to Kill Stuff.

Imagine if you will 2 1500 orc armies vs. 2 1500 Necron armies (controlled by a single player) vs. 2 1500 Imperial Armies (Guard and Space Wolves).

Probably not the wisest idea we ever had to let someone run 3000 points of necrons. Most of their fire went into key imperial targets, especially while I was more concerned with Grouse's charging portion of the orc Horde, but there was fun to be had. The Leman Russ "Orcsterminator" (see picture 1, center) lived up to its name, blowing through a Squad of killer cans, and lots of boyz before Warboss Thraka got ahold of it. This and the Ogryns held up the Orcish advance for a time, but the Necrons to my right were slaughtering my Marine comrades and had managed to frag the Leman Russ Devisator (see picture 2, left, represented by a smoking Crater).

The Tallarn Demolition Squadron (bright yellow, pictures 2 and three) were trying to reach the Necron Tank Rays of Death but were intercepted by the Necron Sniper Caste. (I know neither of these are technical terms, but I can't remember the names for all the Necron stuff yet. It was only after giving them the Demolitions specialty did it occur to me the humor in giving it to desert warriors.

I need to seriously adjust my tactical use of this vehicle to conform with six edition rules. this probably involves snap shooting the plasma sponsons at every opportunity against any target where there is no chance of them going Danger Close, and hoping the God Emperor Of Terra delivers on the deviation.

Nice. Haven't been playing Games Workshop much around here, of late, but after GenCon, we should be kicking back into Malifaux some, I should post pics when we do...

Like I said I really need to tune some stuff, though it's likely pointless to worry about it too much before the Codex comes out. They've really messed with the way the tanks work, but as someone who loves his foot sloggers as much as his Russes, I'm down with it. I just need to figure out how to make it work.

I guess sun guns can't be snap shot. Perhaps I should trade them back out for bolters...

From what I've heard, the word is it isn't just whine-boys calling cheese on Necrons, they're just straight up broken in 6e.

They also have the advantage of having all their fixes in while the rest of us wait for codexes.

Strait up it might of been a different stories and since had two armies he was able to direct them in harmony when the orc and imperial players were pretty much doing their own thing.

coming back from the dead has always been cheesy, especially when you see some good rolls from it. There is not getting around that unless you take away or limit their ability to come back from the dead.

I suppose you mean the changing the game every couple of years to make money thing? Do you still play D&D or magic? Or any MMO? I haven't bought any new miniatures in about ten years. I really do want a plane though.

I'm not a blind fan by any means, but their practices are hardly exclusive.

Changing the game I have no issues with, its the constant price increases for no bloody good reason. Other miniature companies don't do that, only GW...

There was also their attempt to enforce a copyright for "space marine".

It's not just the price changes, its a lot of the marketing strategy, rules, game balance, etc. It's all just retarded at this point.
