Is there a program that will either allow RDC to span multiple monitors, or allow more than one RDC connection to a workstation (can have mulitple to Server 2003, but just one to XP apparently).

I have a user that normally uses 2 monitors at their workstation so she can the old financial software open on one and the new software open on the other to compare the packages, numbers, reports, etc. However, she needs access to the computer while doing software training from another location. The system I set up for her has 2 monitors as well, so she could work in the same manner while doing the training, but XP doesn't allow for multiple RDC to the system, and I can't expand the RDC window to span both monitors to get around the connection limitation.

Thoughts?

Tivoli if I recall though doesn't allow for multiple connections to an XP workstation either, nor does Remote Admin (its been while though, and at the time, I wasn't using dual monitors to mimic dual monitors on the target system).

As long as she's been upgraded to RDC 6.0, you can span the monitors:

http://jasonmiller.ca/archive/2007/03/03/dual-monitor-support-in-remote-desktop-connections-client-v6.aspx

Command line looks like:

mstsc /span /v:"server"

While this won't give you a true dual monitor configuration (I.E. a seperate desktop), it will span across both monitors and should give her that extra screen real estate, I have not tested yet.
