That's kinda cool. Colors will probably last better, but I bet it wears down your clothes faster.

Eh. If you go to the product website it says LESS water and LESS detergents will be used...so apparently its not completely waterless and you would still have to buy detergent and those little plastic beads...and what happens to those plastic beads when you have to throw them away? And buy new ones?

They've got a loooooooong way to go with this technology before it's ready to be a viable competitor.

Kate: From the website, they say that the beads are meant to be recycled, not thrown away. I'll bet that the only place water and detergent show up is in that bead recycling process, not in the actual fabric cleaning process.

Colphax, I went back and looked again and they are using a nylon polymer for the beads which they said is absorbent in humid conditions, specifically referring to "damp clothing" so at least some water and cleaning agents must be used but with the highly absorbent beads, less water is used.

Damp clothing could be when you came in from the rain, or are washing a wet towel.

Yeah I'm assuming what they mean is your clothes have to actually be "damp" in order for this thing to work...that all depends on what your definition of damp is.
The website says 90% less water is used so take 10% of the water it takes to wash your clothes and put it in this thing, clothes are damp, the beads draw out and absorb the water taking the dirt, stains, and odors out of the clothing in the process.
