I'd have just posted in the other topic, but mine is patently different.

I'm looking for a phone- just a phone- with basic text messaging features. What I want are good reception, good battery life, and good voice clarity as well as really good durability. Ideally, it would have very little in the way of internet features, camera, etc.

And it would be nice if it was available on AT&T, since that's my current carrier. Don't mind purchasing the phone and then activating it, though.

My current phone is one of the nice, blue-brick Nokia 6100's. I love it, but it's really started taking a downward turn the last year or so. I've been keeping it running with parts I've found at garage sales, etc.... But it's gonna die before too long.

95% of my day is spent with wireless, and I've got an iPad and an iPod Touch, so I have very little need for any of the "smart" features... And honestly, I'd go with one of the iPad3s with Verizon LTE and hotspot capability over an iPhone, most likely.

Any suggestions?

Just be aware that the processor of the iPhone 4S is considerably faster than the iPod Touch, and having used both it makes the experience a ton better. Sorry that I don't have an answer to your question though.

Yeah, and I've thought about getting one just for that- but honestly, I don't really push the processor on my touch, mostly just for texting/e-mail/calendar and light browsing.

I'm hoping they update the Touch this year sometime, but not holding my breath.
