A few years ago, I got a home security system from a company called Irongate Security, which sold me a Monitronics system. Over time the system has stopped working properly. It still works, as in if I open the door, the alarm goes off. But things lke the motion detectors go off incessantly as soon as I arm them.
The Irongate company seems to be out of business; so I can't really get them to fix it. I could go to Monitronics and see if they can find me another local retailer. However, I was looking around at some other offerings, such as Xfinity Home and ADT Pulse, and there are a lot more features available in home security systems nowadays. So I'm thinking of getting a new system altogether. I did a little Googling and found some review sites, namely
here and
here. From looking at the review sites and browsing the product sites themselves, I'm finding that I like
FrontPoint Security. I like their remote access features (web and phone status), and their a la carte expandability means I don't need to get everything up front.
Does anyone have any experience with FrontPoint? Alternatively, does anyone have any other recommendations for a home security system?
