So I have several options, and am trying to decide on one cloud storage service.

I'm currently using (evaluating?) Amazon Cloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

Amazon is basically part of the suite of services they are providing along with Cloud Music. My free year was up a few months ago and I went ahead and extended it, but I really haven't used this much since I uploaded a bunch of files (mainly videos) to it shortly after I got it. I just don't find it to be very convenient I guess.

Google Drive is more convenient, and I have the PC agent installed, so have the drive folder and taskbar available. This makes it fine for quickly dragging a file to it. Sharing isn't so convenient though.

Dropbox seems to be the frontrunner right now, for ease of use, features, and integration into.. well everything... I especially like the desktop integration, and ability to put files in the public folder, and right click them to send someone an external link. This has saved my butt a few times recently.

I haven't done any cost comparison. My free dropbox is 2GB. The "Pro" upgrade to 100GB is $99 a year.

Just curious what other think about these services. Am I missing anything? Anyone with a Windows Phone have any insight? I assume Microsoft has a could storage service of some kind, I'm just not familiar with it.

I prefer Dropbox to everything (Amazon Cloud, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive [though I love the name, obviously], Box.net, etc.).

Google Glacier.

Only a penny per gig per month or something like that.

Dropbox is the most robust likely because it's been around the longest. As far as infrastructure goes, I'd put a lot of trust into Amazon as they did cloud computing and scaling for the business market long before they got into the consumer market, and they've been rock-solid.

As far as my personal choices, I've been using Skydrive a lot lately because of its MS integration. Windows 8 and Windows Phone use it pretty seamlessly, and coupled with OneNote and Office360 they could be an end-all-be-all for a Microsoft user.

I know that ChromeOS updated the other day with expanded Google Drive support, and I suspect Google will make a very good product out of it. I have an account but admittedly haven't used it much.

I haven't tried it because they don't have an official app and I don't trust third party apps with that kinda stuff. There is a fairly well-reviewed app for it, though, which seems to have support for things like live tiles for folders, etc.

I've also been using SkyDrive - in large part because I have a Windows Phone. Having installed the app on my computer, it acts just like a network folder.

Seamless, and free. Kinda hard to beat.

Wow, if I didn't look at the path, I would swear that was a dropbox folder.

Hmmm

I think I'll wait to invest any money in Dropbox until the WP8 and Win 8 slates come out....

Thanks!

Something I just learned about Skydrive today ... it gives you remote access to the files on your home computer.

Wait, what? I don't want all the files on my computer on the internet!

Technically, they're not. Your files aren't being uploaded to the internet, SkyDrive is simply giving you a means by which to access them remotely. If you don't want that option enabled, just disable it.
